<<0>> our next panel will include the

<<1>> expertise of doctors and nutrition

<<3>> specialists

<<4>> they will share their insight on how to

<<6>> keep your kids well

<<7>> and what a healthy diet really means

<<9>> mirella vanessa and pablo this stage is

<<12>> all yours

<<18>> [Music]

<<18>> [Applause]

<<19>> [Music]

<<21>> hello and welcome to our panel today

<<24>> we're very excited to be here with you

<<26>> all

<<26>> um we are here with doterra and

<<29>> some experts in nutrition to talk to you

<<32>> today

<<32>> about kids and nutrition so it gives me

<<34>> great pleasure to introduce you to first

<<36>> of all marella

<<38>> thank you vanessa my i come from

<<42>> a different very colorful background

<<45>> i have a dual degree in fine art

<<48>> from cornell university and that's my

<<50>> previous life and then

<<52>> i have a degree in nutrition from the

<<55>> university of medicine

<<57>> in transylvania in trigonomers

<<60>> since my all my families from a medical

<<63>> background

<<64>> we now reunited under the same roof

<<67>> of an integrative medicine clinic here

<<70>> in

<<71>> tirgomores where we are somehow

<<75>> succeeding in marrying traditional

<<78>> medicine with complementary

<<80>> practices and so that's been my

<<83>> long life dream and that very well goes

<<87>> along with

<<88>> um with my working with the oils both in

<<91>> my practice and

<<92>> in my personal family life so that's

<<96>> about me professionally i'm also the

<<98>> mother of

<<100>> two children i i like to joke that i'm

<<103>> the romanian mother of two italian

<<105>> children and an italian husband so i

<<107>> come from a mediterranean diet

<<110>> perspective in nutrition that's that's

<<112>> about me vanessa

<<114>> beautiful lovely to have you here thank

<<116>> you and it gives me great pleasure to

<<118>> also introduce pavla

<<120>> if you could tell us a little bit more

<<121>> about you

<<123>> hello venice vanessa vane very nice to

<<125>> meet you and i'm really glad

<<127>> and thank you for our invitation to

<<129>> participate here

<<130>> in in this in this very nice talk my

<<133>> background is that

<<134>> i'm a doctor i just studied like

<<136>> classical medical

<<137>> universities like charles university in

<<139>> prague and um

<<140>> i used to work like a doctor in the

<<143>> hospital and

<<144>> as well as a practitioner doctor and

<<147>> but like um the holistic medicine and

<<150>> functional medicine is like going

<<152>> like red lines through all my career and

<<156>> one very very big part of my

<<159>> life i was running my own small spa

<<162>> based on colon hydrotherapy and

<<164>> detoxification and

<<166>> and also focused on a nutritional thing

<<168>> and i was cooperating with the chairman

<<171>> a company metabolic balance a very long

<<173>> long time so

<<175>> so these things like holistic medicine

<<177>> and the natural medicine

<<178>> it's my passion all my long life

<<182>> wow that's great we've got some very

<<184>> exciting skills on board so

<<186>> lastly let's me to introduce myself um

<<189>> my name is vanessa i'm a nutritional

<<192>> therapist

<<193>> i'm also an nlp practitioner which is

<<195>> neuro-linguistic programming

<<197>> so my passion really comes from dealing

<<200>> with

<<201>> the mindset of healthy eating my

<<204>> specialism is really helping mothers

<<207>> with

<<208>> actually with children so i really

<<209>> really love doing that and anything yet

<<211>> related to gut health

<<213>> so this is a real passion of mine to be

<<216>> here

<<216>> with both of you to talk about a topic

<<218>> that's very close to my heart

<<220>> and i know most of us have been with

<<221>> doterra essential oils as well and use

<<224>> them

<<224>> rigorously in our practice as well and

<<226>> so how

<<228>> to get children to eat more fruits and

<<231>> vegetables

<<232>> how do you do that every day pavlo in

<<234>> what you do

<<237>> so as i can admit that

<<240>> my kids are a little bit older like one

<<243>> is 19 and second is like 20

<<245>> 24 or something like this university

<<248>> kids

<<249>> so i remember these times then when was

<<252>> like

<<252>> challenging and it was all my

<<255>> concern to to keep them eating many

<<259>> fruits and

<<260>> and what i use like it was like to to

<<262>> cut

<<263>> them to get them fruits and to to prep

<<266>> to prepare it or to be it prepare all

<<269>> the time on

<<270>> on a plate or anything to have it

<<273>> to have it at any time wonderful

<<276>> thank you and you marilla how do you

<<279>> manage to get children to eat more fruit

<<280>> vegetables

<<282>> um well i always like to tell parents

<<286>> and remind ourselves remind myself every

<<290>> day that

<<290>> we are mirrors for our children so what

<<295>> we do they will be doing

<<298>> so the the fruit you have on your plate

<<301>> the

<<301>> fruit you have in the house on the table

<<304>> is exactly what they will be used to

<<308>> seeing and consuming because they see

<<310>> you consuming them so

<<311>> first thing you adults

<<315>> should consume fruits and vegetables

<<319>> in abundance and then children will do

<<321>> it automatically

<<323>> also i go by the rule um insight

<<327>> in mind out of sight out of mind for the

<<330>> bad things

<<331>> because children are very fast

<<334>> in getting used to bad things as well

<<338>> as good things so what they see they go

<<341>> for

<<341>> they're instinctive they're they there's

<<343>> there we know how they are

<<345>> so um i have a green

<<348>> fridge instead of a no color fridge

<<352>> full of things that are not nutritious

<<354>> dance

<<355>> so those are two of my main strategies

<<359>> maybe you can you can add some more

<<361>> vanessa perfect

<<363>> yeah i think it's very difficult for

<<365>> children today because

<<367>> they're bombarded with choice and i

<<370>> think

<<371>> we have to kind of navigate those

<<373>> choices for children

<<374>> so think about when you're offering

<<377>> fruit and veg are you making it

<<379>> appealing and are you giving other

<<382>> choices at the same time because

<<384>> it's very easy for children if they've

<<386>> got a whole plate of fruit and

<<387>> vegetables and you're putting chocolate

<<389>> bars on the side

<<390>> for them to gravitate towards those

<<392>> chocolate bars so i think we have to be

<<394>> very careful about

<<396>> the choices that we give our children

<<398>> because

<<399>> too much choice and also choices that

<<402>> we've got to remember their taste buds

<<403>> are going to naturally gravitate towards

<<406>> salt and sugar is going to

<<409>> confuse children and not enable them to

<<412>> taste

<<413>> the beautiful flavors of fruit and

<<414>> vegetables this was certainly my

<<416>> experience because

<<417>> i grew up i think having a very varied

<<419>> diet and having a lot of fruit and

<<420>> vegetables

<<422>> but i couldn't necessarily taste all the

<<424>> subtle flavors of fruit and vegetables

<<426>> because

<<426>> i was bombarded with sugar and salt

<<429>> which is very prevalent in today's

<<430>> society so

<<432>> i try and give lots of fruit and

<<435>> vegetable as

<<436>> the the first point of call

<<439>> and then if you want to give some of the

<<440>> other foods give them afterwards but

<<443>> it's an extra not an either or and then

<<445>> that enables them to make their choices

<<447>> a little bit more effectively

<<450>> so leading on from that how many fruit

<<453>> and vegetables should we be eating

<<456>> for us and i guess for children as well

<<458>> right because there's a lot of different

<<460>> advice out there and it can be confusing

<<462>> for parents to know how much

<<464>> is enough um what do you think mirella

<<467>> what do you think

<<469>> well to to make um somehow

<<472>> um an average between all guidelines

<<475>> because there's the american

<<478>> nutritional society guidelines they're

<<480>> the european ones so it's all

<<482>> varied but i think we can all agree

<<485>> on uh consensus that around

<<489>> 400 grams of fruit so that's about

<<492>> four portions uh two a fruit two of

<<495>> veggies

<<496>> or three to one or two to one i mean 400

<<499>> grams is more or less what

<<502>> we agree and i prepared for a visual for

<<505>> this because

<<506>> it's actually very little people think

<<508>> oh forehand that's half a kilo

<<510>> look what that is and this

<<513>> actually exceeds look how small

<<517>> these balls are this is how much

<<520>> berries and children who eat fruit and

<<524>> veggies they would just go through this

<<526>> in five minutes

<<527>> grapes oops grapes

<<530>> um this is the base for a nice little

<<534>> salad of carrot tomato peppers

<<537>> and a little bit of cabbage and this

<<539>> actually goes to 600 grams so

<<542>> let me take one off and that is

<<545>> the 400 grams which is not a lot

<<549>> um and it's very easy to reach it's just

<<552>> um parents should

<<555>> somehow understand what this means and

<<558>> how easy it is to integrate it by

<<561>> by attractive techniques using using

<<565>> these attractive techniques of

<<566>> color positioning on the plates um

<<570>> interesting way of proposing it seeing

<<573>> making the child see that you are eating

<<576>> this

<<576>> and then i think i think it's quite easy

<<579>> to get to those

<<580>> um to those guidelines so pablo you

<<583>> probably have your own guidelines that

<<584>> you had as a doctor and probably now as

<<587>> you do holistically what do you think we

<<589>> should be doing about enough fruit and

<<590>> veg for children

<<592>> so um i totally agree what uh what mira

<<596>> said because

<<597>> it's it's like 400 500 as we saw on the

<<600>> plate like 600

<<601>> 600 grams it's a it's like nothing cause

<<605>> we can do it we all

<<606>> know that when we offer it our kids like

<<609>> proper way

<<610>> they can eat very very simply but there

<<613>> is under

<<614>> understand another thing i'm concerned

<<616>> about and this is the amount

<<618>> of the vitamin and metal it's it's

<<620>> inside right now

<<621>> because um i don't know probably i'm

<<624>> sure you are

<<625>> you are studying these the same

<<628>> resources

<<629>> and we can see that this this amount of

<<632>> minerals and vitamins is completely

<<634>> different

<<634>> and much lower than it was i don't know

<<637>> 50 60

<<638>> and even 30 years ago and we really have

<<641>> to think about

<<642>> how we how we get it to out to our

<<646>> children says

<<647>> because of course we know that we have

<<649>> to eat like

<<650>> we really would like to all of us eat a

<<653>> very great food and very great

<<654>> vegetables

<<655>> to to have it from farmers and to have

<<658>> it from

<<658>> locals it will be absolutely the best

<<661>> way but

<<662>> as as i'm saying you in england me in

<<664>> czech republic we are lucky this way

<<666>> only a few weeks in a year

<<668>> i'm jealous about the mediterranean

<<670>> people they have a completely different

<<672>> lifestyle in in

<<676>> i mean in this point of view but

<<681>> still i think that we really should

<<682>> think about how to supplement these

<<684>> minerals to kids because it's necessary

<<687>> really

<<688>> because the kids cannot grow properly

<<691>> without

<<691>> these micronutrients

<<694>> yeah i totally agree i mean we are at an

<<697>> epidemic of children who are now

<<699>> overfed but undernourished and i think

<<702>> one of the things that manages their

<<704>> cravings

<<704>> is they really craving these

<<706>> micronutrients

<<708>> and you're absolutely right because they

<<709>> can't even go through detoxification

<<711>> processes which we

<<712>> really need today we are bombarded with

<<715>> toxic chemicals and we can't do those

<<718>> pathways of detoxification unless we

<<720>> have all of those micronutrients so i

<<722>> absolutely agree

<<724>> i know that the guidelines are really

<<726>> sort of between

<<727>> four to five portions a day i think if

<<729>> we want to live in

<<730>> health and live with abundant energy we

<<734>> really need to be looking at

<<735>> eight nine ten portions but you have to

<<738>> start from a starting place and i think

<<739>> this is where the government guidelines

<<741>> come in

<<742>> most people aren't even eating those

<<743>> four or five portions so

<<745>> we need to start at a starting point of

<<748>> introducing and getting children used to

<<750>> more fruits and vegetables

<<752>> so i think that really brings me on to a

<<754>> really great question

<<755>> um i think breakfast is a really

<<758>> foundational part of

<<759>> of getting our children to eat healthier

<<763>> and it's probably the one that needs a

<<764>> little bit of help and support

<<766>> um i know i have my ideas about how we

<<768>> can get more fruit and veg into our diet

<<769>> for breakfast but i would be luck i

<<771>> would love to hear what you guys think

<<773>> um pavla how do you encourage children

<<775>> to eat

<<776>> more fruit and vegetable or start their

<<778>> breakfast with a healthier start to the

<<779>> day

<<781>> actually we used to we used to start

<<785>> uh many years many many many years our

<<788>> first uh

<<789>> meal like breakfast in the morning was a

<<791>> yogurt

<<792>> with apple like with baked one apple so

<<795>> i i was i was so nice i usually get them

<<798>> he has to do to do

<<800>> yogurt and put some cinnamon in the top

<<803>> of it and it was like a very general and

<<805>> very very long-term breakfast

<<809>> you know in our home

<<812>> that sounds delicious what about you

<<815>> marilla what do you do for breakfast to

<<818>> give children a good start

<<820>> well we as i told you coming from the

<<822>> mediterranean

<<824>> diet point of view our breakfast means

<<827>> cereal

<<828>> fruit nuts and seeds so

<<831>> that's that's about the combination

<<833>> which can come in any form

<<835>> possible could be a porridge with some

<<838>> nuts

<<839>> or hemp seeds on top and

<<842>> some berries or it can be in the shape

<<845>> of

<<846>> of crepes with with homemade marmalades

<<850>> sugar-free some other fresh fruit on the

<<853>> side or a freshly squeezed orange juice

<<856>> with lemon lemon orange

<<860>> that could be another another form of it

<<862>> it's always cereal

<<864>> it's biscuits rolled oats biscuits

<<867>> with fruit dried fruit because then we

<<869>> have this

<<870>> whole um discourse about calcium

<<873>> about iron parents are usually very

<<877>> worried for

<<878>> their children's intake of these of

<<881>> these

<<882>> micronutrients um minerals and so on and

<<887>> and so we make sure there's a little bit

<<890>> of everything in there but also with the

<<892>> right combinations

<<893>> so that they um in the absorption of

<<896>> calcium is facilitated that of iron is

<<899>> facilitated

<<900>> because we know the two mechanisms

<<902>> interact and so

<<904>> um so be careful with that

<<907>> um as well um what i wanted to add

<<910>> before

<<911>> and um to the discourse before but also

<<914>> connecting

<<915>> to the the the discourse of

<<918>> nutrients micronutrients it is um

<<921>> in the end a matter of absorption and

<<923>> that's exactly what

<<924>> you girls were saying that we need a

<<928>> healthy colon

<<929>> to be reaching to that optimal

<<933>> absorption

<<934>> and so we need to ensure that our

<<936>> children

<<937>> have a healthy gut in order to process

<<941>> and to absorb

<<943>> uh the best and the top of amount of

<<946>> their uh vitamins uh we

<<949>> know that children absorb more than

<<952>> adults

<<952>> and that is because their colon

<<956>> is generally healthier the younger they

<<958>> are the healthier they are

<<960>> um we adults are the ones who ruin this

<<963>> beautiful curve

<<964>> and so um so for that precise

<<968>> fact you are right vanessa in saying

<<971>> that we should maybe even

<<972>> double the amount of um of

<<976>> raw fruit and veggies that we and our

<<979>> children

<<980>> eat because only part of it will be

<<983>> absorbed and then pavla you are even

<<986>> more ripe

<<986>> saying that our fruit and veggies are

<<990>> deprived of a lot of those nutrients

<<993>> because the soil

<<994>> is not reaching those nutrients anymore

<<997>> our waters

<<998>> are more and more polluted unfortunately

<<1002>> and therefore we should also increase

<<1005>> consumption

<<1006>> in order to increase absorption and

<<1009>> that's summing up what what you were

<<1012>> saying

<<1013>> and just one more thing to add is that

<<1016>> we had a test

<<1017>> in the food chemistry department at the

<<1020>> university

<<1021>> uh testing beta-carotene in organic

<<1024>> versus non-organic carrots i

<<1028>> have to share with you the fact that the

<<1030>> non-organic carrots

<<1032>> had almost none i cannot even give you a

<<1036>> percentage because it was somewhere

<<1038>> close to zero point something

<<1040>> of beta-carotene while the organic ones

<<1044>> had somewhere around 60 percent

<<1048>> so not 100 so that's exactly what we

<<1051>> were talking about

<<1052>> maybe to be on the safe side we can say

<<1056>> state from clinical studies that

<<1059>> the amount of nutrients in our food even

<<1062>> food coming from organic sources is

<<1065>> somewhere

<<1066>> half on to be on the on the average side

<<1069>> so that's why yes

<<1071>> we should encourage our children to

<<1073>> increase consumption again it's not a

<<1075>> lot

<<1076>> it's handfuls it's two three handfuls

<<1078>> just think of their

<<1080>> two little their tiny little hands and

<<1082>> double that

<<1084>> and that's that's where you are right

<<1086>> vanessa

<<1087>> yeah absolutely i i couldn't agree more

<<1089>> with you on the organic side

<<1090>> i think in today's society we've come to

<<1093>> think of

<<1094>> organic as a luxury item and we've

<<1096>> become

<<1097>> used to food becoming very very cheap

<<1100>> when the reality is we need to take the

<<1102>> food back to how it's grown naturally

<<1104>> and that's what organic is

<<1106>> it's how it was grown ancestrally

<<1108>> without all the

<<1109>> pesticides and fertilizers and genetic

<<1111>> modification

<<1113>> it's really taking it back to how food

<<1116>> used to exist so we need to revisit

<<1119>> how we spend our money and do it wisely

<<1121>> because health is really should be our

<<1123>> most important wealth so

<<1125>> and and investing that into our children

<<1127>> for only a few pence more is such

<<1129>> a valuable resource that we can give our

<<1132>> children

<<1132>> um i absolutely agree with you

<<1134>> wholeheartedly on that

<<1136>> so for me breakfast i think it's such

<<1140>> um an important meal of the day because

<<1142>> it's one of those things that we want to

<<1143>> send our children

<<1144>> to school feeling full and able to

<<1146>> concentrate

<<1148>> this is something that a lot of children

<<1150>> can struggle with um

<<1151>> sitting so to be able to sit at school

<<1153>> being able to concentrate being able to

<<1155>> last until lunchtime

<<1156>> um i'm a big advocate of porridge

<<1159>> because i think it's

<<1160>> full of energizing b vitamins and we

<<1164>> put it with things that like berries for

<<1165>> antioxidants

<<1167>> it can be a really um filling breakfast

<<1170>> to be able to have

<<1171>> um i also like smoothies and i think you

<<1174>> can make those really appetizing for

<<1176>> children

<<1176>> and to start with if they're not used to

<<1178>> smoothies you can make them super sweet

<<1180>> with

<<1180>> just fruit well just fruit to start with

<<1182>> and maybe you can add a couple of dates

<<1184>> and then you can smuggle in some extra

<<1187>> greens you can use green powders you can

<<1189>> add vegetables and then you're getting

<<1191>> extra micronutrients in i would say you

<<1194>> can even get your five a day

<<1195>> in at breakfast if you want to

<<1198>> and send your children off with a really

<<1201>> healthy sustainable

<<1203>> breakfast so it's something that we do

<<1205>> quite a lot at home

<<1207>> and since we're since we're looking at

<<1209>> this issue holistically

<<1211>> one more thing i would uh use and i use

<<1215>> and i would suggest

<<1216>> parents to use as a tip is to look at

<<1219>> that

<<1220>> fruit that you mentioned the breakfast

<<1222>> fruit

<<1223>> in the form of a natural toothbrush

<<1226>> for their children because an apple

<<1230>> is is solid

<<1233>> and it will also clean your child's uh

<<1236>> dental surface once um their breakfast

<<1240>> is over

<<1240>> so that's also again very important to

<<1243>> maintain the

<<1244>> the healthy um the healthy dental

<<1247>> structure

<<1248>> healthy microbiome in the mouth and

<<1251>> you can do that as simple as you can

<<1254>> with an apple

<<1255>> or any um any uh solid fruit

<<1258>> right yeah absolutely and the pectin

<<1262>> in apple is so good for uh for digestion

<<1266>> if you've got constipated children it's

<<1268>> really going to help with the colon

<<1269>> moving

<<1270>> and also really hydrating i think we

<<1272>> have lots of children who

<<1274>> are dehydrated and that's something that

<<1277>> really affects digestion inflammation

<<1280>> um also you know for

<<1283>> the release of toxins you've got to be

<<1285>> fully hydrated so

<<1286>> having extra fruit in the diet really

<<1289>> helps to keep

<<1290>> children hydrated so what do we do when

<<1293>> we have

<<1294>> fussy children because this is something

<<1296>> i know i get asked a lot

<<1298>> how do you get very fussy children to

<<1301>> eat more fruits and vegetables

<<1303>> how would you do that marilla well i

<<1306>> get this question every single day

<<1310>> because

<<1311>> um parents sometimes mistake

<<1315>> fussiness for an expression of their

<<1319>> child of their own independence

<<1321>> so sometimes they say no to something

<<1324>> it's not because it's a categorical no

<<1326>> or they don't like it but it's because

<<1328>> they want to express that independence

<<1330>> so

<<1331>> allow them to say no but continue to

<<1333>> propose proposed propose

<<1335>> and to show them the the colorful plates

<<1339>> of fruit and vegetables

<<1340>> what um i always suggest

<<1344>> parents to do when children are a little

<<1346>> bit resistant to maybe eating fruit

<<1349>> is ice cream popsicles ice cream

<<1353>> is the the one number one thing that

<<1355>> every child on this earth would

<<1357>> run to so then you can choose your own

<<1361>> version of very easy homemade

<<1364>> um ice creams popsicles it's just

<<1367>> blending fruit meat with maybe honey

<<1371>> with some coconut milk or water or you

<<1375>> can choose your own formula as

<<1376>> simple as possible um and then

<<1380>> there it goes in the fridge freezer in

<<1382>> the fridge it could be a sorbet

<<1384>> it could be an ice cream it could be a a

<<1387>> popsicle and then

<<1388>> and then they will any child on this

<<1391>> planet

<<1391>> will accept it um so be as creative as

<<1394>> possible with this and

<<1396>> and change the shape of that apple that

<<1399>> maybe they

<<1400>> don't want to accept today they will

<<1402>> accept it in the shape of an apple

<<1404>> sorbet

<<1406>> i think that's very wise advice i i

<<1408>> think sometimes

<<1409>> when children aren't used to the taste

<<1410>> of lots of fruit and vegetables

<<1412>> actually disguising it can be a really

<<1414>> great first step

<<1416>> um for getting them used to eating more

<<1418>> fruits and vegetables what about you

<<1419>> pavlo what do you do when

<<1421>> you have fussy children i know that i

<<1424>> think

<<1424>> that to make things as simple as it's

<<1427>> possible because

<<1428>> when it's simple for us we can do it

<<1431>> repeat

<<1431>> repeatedly and i think the simple things

<<1434>> are

<<1435>> for kids um more attractive too yes so

<<1438>> i think like so simple thing like is a

<<1440>> nipple and

<<1441>> a carrot when we mix it together and put

<<1444>> i don't know few drops of of the lemon

<<1448>> into it so it's it's so yummy and and i

<<1451>> don't remember a single day when my kids

<<1452>> say

<<1453>> oh i know i don't like it yes they

<<1455>> always love it and

<<1456>> and i was like i'm sorry i got you

<<1458>> [Laughter]

<<1460>> because it works every time yeah

<<1463>> absolutely

<<1466>> really simple i i love doing pasta

<<1468>> sauces with

<<1470>> with tomato and lots of different

<<1472>> vegetables and you can just blend this

<<1474>> with a little hand blender

<<1476>> that's all you've got at home and you

<<1478>> can put five or six different vegetable

<<1480>> root vegetables

<<1481>> onions carrots tomatoes peppers

<<1484>> for the sweetness absolutely they have

<<1487>> no idea you pour it on you tell them

<<1489>> it's tomato sauce

<<1491>> and they will happily enjoy this

<<1494>> yeah one one of the ones the recipes

<<1496>> that i absolutely love that my daughter

<<1498>> love right from the start even though

<<1500>> she doesn't particularly like avocado

<<1503>> i used to make chocolate avocado pudding

<<1505>> have you done this one

<<1507>> so avocado coconut milk

<<1511>> cacao powder a little bit of honey and

<<1514>> then i like to add some of the oils into

<<1516>> it so

<<1516>> um either orange or lime or lemon

<<1520>> and you put a couple of drops in and

<<1522>> they just think it's like a chocolate

<<1523>> mousse and you blend it

<<1525>> and even though my daughter thinks she

<<1527>> doesn't like avocado she'll have it very

<<1528>> regularly as a really healthy dessert

<<1531>> and there's no refined sugar in it

<<1532>> and if you're using the cacao chocolate

<<1534>> it's full of minerals as well so it's

<<1537>> actually a really healthy dessert um to

<<1540>> give them that little extra sweetness

<<1542>> what we do what we do along the same

<<1545>> lines

<<1546>> for the sorbet for example my my son

<<1549>> who is five years old he loves the the

<<1552>> grape um so just take they the seedless

<<1556>> grapes um

<<1557>> which are easier because then it's you

<<1559>> blend everything um

<<1561>> fast enough uh with some honey uh with

<<1564>> some coconut milk

<<1565>> because then it's denser and some green

<<1568>> mandarin essential oil it gives it a

<<1571>> twist it's

<<1572>> it's it's different i used to uh to put

<<1575>> lemon in or lime for a while but then

<<1577>> green mandarin was and he he says the

<<1580>> green mandarin mama

<<1582>> so that's that's his then raspberry with

<<1585>> uh

<<1585>> lemon uh essential oil is the one my

<<1588>> daughter loves

<<1589>> and our secret one the adults

<<1592>> ours is the coconut banana and

<<1595>> peppermint

<<1596>> essential oil because it's you know so

<<1598>> that's

<<1599>> that's the the twist we give

<<1602>> in in my home i love green mandarin it's

<<1606>> i haven't put it in desserts but i love

<<1608>> it i love it in a big sparkling

<<1610>> water right a couple of drops of green

<<1612>> mandarin

<<1613>> and yeah you got it then

<<1618>> and we quite often have a mint choc chip

<<1621>> smoothie for breakfast and i like to

<<1622>> hear that you've had peppermint in the

<<1624>> morning so i'll do it with lots and lots

<<1626>> of greens

<<1627>> so it's aware of me smuggling in all my

<<1629>> lettuce and my spinach and my greens

<<1631>> put mint in it and cacao nibs and then

<<1634>> it's like a choc tip and my daughter

<<1637>> always asks for this one so

<<1639>> very very popular so if i was to ask you

<<1643>> what your top nutrition tips

<<1645>> were for children that's one or two um

<<1648>> that could help our audience

<<1649>> what would you say pavlo over to you

<<1654>> like top i don't know what what really

<<1657>> we would like always do was uh kind of

<<1661>> like um

<<1662>> i'm just talking like because i i now i

<<1665>> know that

<<1666>> middle's husband is italian almost as

<<1669>> mine too

<<1670>> so also what we'd ever love to do is a

<<1673>> bolognese

<<1674>> because uh kids always love such

<<1676>> spaghetti

<<1677>> yes and the bolognese is this for me

<<1679>> it's a

<<1680>> full of nutritive full of nutrition

<<1683>> full of nutrition food as there is a

<<1686>> great

<<1686>> meat so much vegetables because

<<1690>> we put celery of course tomatoes and

<<1693>> and and onion and there's a very big

<<1695>> portion of of all these very

<<1697>> very healthy things together so i think

<<1700>> it's like

<<1701>> things that kids said that i have no

<<1703>> idea this is a

<<1704>> super super healthy food and they eat it

<<1707>> in love with it

<<1710>> no that sounds like a great meal and to

<<1712>> you marilla have you got some tip

<<1713>> top tips for children i will give you

<<1716>> three then

<<1718>> the first one is always water

<<1721>> because this is quite an um

<<1724>> an easily forgotten topic for parents

<<1727>> and when children express

<<1729>> thirst that is too late that means

<<1732>> dehydration so they should be constantly

<<1734>> hydrated

<<1735>> um and we should remind them of that

<<1738>> because they play they forget

<<1740>> so hydrating and uh making their

<<1743>> also their water more interesting what

<<1746>> i suggest is making enzymatic water

<<1750>> how i call it water with fresh herbs

<<1754>> i have now water with just lemon slices

<<1757>> of lemon

<<1758>> and some peppermint leaves from our

<<1761>> garden

<<1762>> and then some essential oils of your

<<1764>> choice to make their water

<<1766>> more exciting because you they need they

<<1769>> need um

<<1770>> they need to change and so water is my

<<1773>> first recommendation

<<1774>> always i always remind parents to

<<1777>> be careful then my second one

<<1780>> is always choose whole fruit

<<1784>> instead of fruit juices because the

<<1787>> fructose

<<1788>> in fruit juices it has such

<<1792>> an an incredible effect and it's so

<<1795>> concentrated and

<<1797>> it has a mind-blowing effect on

<<1799>> children's brains and you will see

<<1802>> children being becoming very hyperactive

<<1804>> after a fruit

<<1805>> of concentrated fruit juice so always

<<1808>> choose

<<1808>> the whole thing the fruit that comes

<<1811>> packed with its fiber

<<1812>> and then its sugars will be absorbed in

<<1815>> a in a healthier way

<<1817>> and then my third one is to think of

<<1820>> snacks in the form of

<<1823>> nuts and seeds because it's so easy

<<1826>> you have them in your bag when you go to

<<1828>> the park they have them in their pockets

<<1830>> and it's so

<<1831>> easy to incorporate nuts and seeds in

<<1834>> those snacks nuts and seeds that i

<<1837>> always suggest

<<1838>> parents to soak them overnight because

<<1841>> that way they will eliminate part of the

<<1843>> phytic acid

<<1844>> um in the dry in the dry nuts

<<1848>> and will also um bring to life

<<1852>> those enzymes in them so those are

<<1855>> those are my top three recommendations i

<<1858>> would say

<<1860>> perfect really good yeah i think you're

<<1862>> absolutely right i think we need to get

<<1863>> children uh drinking more and making it

<<1865>> more exciting because unfortunately

<<1867>> they're now used to

<<1868>> things like squash and cordials and

<<1872>> and obviously they contain a lot of

<<1873>> sugar for a lot of children so actually

<<1874>> if we make regular water flavored

<<1877>> you can have things like strawberries

<<1878>> can't you and cucumber and the essential

<<1880>> oils in them

<<1881>> and they have this really beautiful to

<<1883>> me the essential oils are like nature's

<<1885>> cordial

<<1886>> without all of the sugar and the

<<1888>> sweetness so that's a great tip

<<1890>> um one of the things that i would say

<<1892>> for children

<<1893>> is get them used to making food get them

<<1896>> to help you in the kitchen

<<1898>> get them to learn the skills of chopping

<<1900>> stirring

<<1901>> cooking i think today we are teaching

<<1905>> our children to

<<1906>> bake a lot there are a lot of a lot of

<<1908>> baking cakes but not a lot of the actual

<<1911>> cutting of vegetables and that's what

<<1912>> they need to learn this is a skill that

<<1914>> will take them

<<1915>> all the way through to adulthood if they

<<1917>> learn to cook from scratch

<<1919>> and i know that we live in very

<<1920>> fast-paced worlds today and

<<1923>> i'm speaking with two other working moms

<<1925>> and it can feel very very tight on time

<<1928>> just to cook from scratch but it's one

<<1930>> of those things that if you just have

<<1932>> a day on the weekend when you can learn

<<1934>> to batch cook

<<1935>> and you can get children cutting up

<<1937>> onions

<<1938>> um get them to to peel vegetables to

<<1941>> learn

<<1942>> how to cook really the basics then you

<<1944>> set them up for a lifetime

<<1946>> of learning how to cook real food and

<<1948>> that's a real skill that i think we need

<<1950>> to learn to

<<1950>> to give to our children one of the

<<1954>> things that i know i love to do because

<<1955>> i'm a bit of a foodie and i and i love

<<1957>> cooking

<<1958>> is to add doterra essential oils to my

<<1961>> cooking

<<1962>> and i actually have a box of the oils

<<1964>> literally in my kitchen with all my

<<1966>> favorite cooking oils

<<1967>> so i would love to learn some of the

<<1969>> tips from you both because i'm sure that

<<1971>> you have the same shared passion

<<1974>> what are your some of your favorite ways

<<1976>> to add the oils

<<1977>> to your food over to you pavlo

<<1983>> i think there are so many ways we are

<<1985>> using in our kitchen because

<<1987>> because my my husband is israeli foodie

<<1990>> doing his uh he's uh

<<1992>> loving the cooking and we are preparing

<<1994>> the the

<<1995>> the cookbook as well and what i

<<1998>> if i telling something for me i love i

<<2001>> love

<<2002>> oils and smoothies and if we are if you

<<2005>> are talking about the kids

<<2006>> i think what what we really saw is that

<<2010>> if you want to prepare vegetable salad i

<<2012>> think it's something that kids like

<<2014>> looking for it like they will not eat it

<<2016>> because it's only full

<<2018>> of green things and it's not not

<<2020>> attractive for them

<<2022>> and if you put to the salat a drop of

<<2024>> white orange

<<2026>> lemon on lime so it turns in a second

<<2030>> and very sweet and attractive delicious

<<2033>> food and they will eat it for sure

<<2035>> for sure so you have another another

<<2037>> opportunity how to get

<<2038>> to do to the kids the vegetables and we

<<2041>> also using

<<2042>> uh for for very

<<2045>> soups yes for for example ginger to the

<<2048>> soup

<<2049>> and and and pink pepper to the soup so

<<2052>> it's

<<2052>> things like this you're using all all

<<2054>> day all day long we are using

<<2056>> also a kitchen yeah perfect

<<2059>> what about you marilla have you got some

<<2061>> of your favorites too

<<2062>> um well coming from again the the the

<<2066>> pasta

<<2068>> based family um pasta pizza anyway the

<<2071>> mediterranean

<<2073>> carbohydrate based diet which is based

<<2077>> on

<<2078>> healthy whole foods whole grains

<<2081>> carbohydrates i use

<<2085>> oils in the sauces as you mentioned

<<2088>> before in the pasta sauce

<<2090>> the pizza sauce the children really

<<2094>> accept it because that's the way our

<<2096>> pizza sauce

<<2097>> is with some basil oil all um

<<2101>> with some basil essential oil or some

<<2104>> thyme or some oregano or it depends we

<<2107>> we vary then we use um i make a lot of

<<2111>> humus so i use caraway

<<2114>> in my hummus which i love absolutely

<<2118>> love

<<2118>> and i used to um to

<<2122>> add the powder before but now i use the

<<2124>> oil more and it's really

<<2126>> it's really great then breakfast wise

<<2130>> we use cinnamon essential oil in our

<<2132>> porridge

<<2133>> so that's another that's another

<<2136>> addition that's

<<2137>> that we love and again yes in in fresh

<<2139>> smoothies in juices and in those

<<2142>> sorbets and ice creams that i was

<<2143>> mentioning before every day

<<2146>> beautiful yeah and i think some of us

<<2148>> are not used to adding essential oils to

<<2150>> our food but

<<2151>> we have to remember that actually a lot

<<2152>> of times when you're reading them

<<2154>> on packets they're quite often the

<<2156>> essential oils that are used as

<<2158>> flavoring

<<2158>> because it's one of the most inexpensive

<<2160>> ways to add a really intense flavor

<<2163>> to the food that we're eating every day

<<2165>> anyway um i

<<2166>> absolutely love adding essential oils i

<<2168>> i'm quite a fan of orange and ginger

<<2171>> in in a smoothie i love citrus

<<2174>> um i love doing the ginger like you do

<<2177>> have like

<<2177>> a in a soup you do have to be a little

<<2180>> bit careful though right because

<<2181>> sometimes if you tip two drops it can

<<2184>> overdo it so

<<2185>> one of my top tips is do it on a spoon

<<2188>> so drop the essential oil particularly

<<2190>> if you're doing things like thyme or

<<2191>> oregano

<<2192>> drop it onto a spoon and then if you do

<<2193>> get a couple stick that in your diffuser

<<2196>> and then go again with just one because

<<2199>> the thing with using very strong

<<2200>> essential oils they're very powerful

<<2203>> but if you put two drops in so bolognese

<<2205>> you can completely

<<2206>> ruin your sauce as we've all done every

<<2210>> now and again

<<2212>> and and you also want to be careful

<<2214>> about the essential oils you're using

<<2215>> so please be careful because obviously

<<2217>> doterra essential oils are all

<<2219>> third-party tested

<<2220>> this is not necessarily the case with

<<2222>> other oils out there so you want to be

<<2224>> very careful because a lot of them

<<2226>> are adulterated and not safe for

<<2228>> internal ingestion as well

<<2231>> and obviously obviously for pregnant

<<2234>> ladies and for small children um

<<2237>> you should always consult texts

<<2241>> and see the safety of each particular

<<2243>> essential oil in

<<2245>> your children's food or in your food if

<<2247>> you're pregnant

<<2248>> um so that's obviously

<<2252>> important absolutely yeah dilution

<<2254>> absolutely and yes you're absolutely

<<2256>> right

<<2256>> if you're pregnant you want to make sure

<<2258>> you're being careful with that okay for

<<2260>> a last question

<<2261>> i wanted to ask you ladies as we've got

<<2262>> some real experts today on the panel

<<2266>> talking about normal digestion and i

<<2268>> think

<<2269>> what's become normal in society is

<<2272>> perhaps

<<2273>> not what we should accepting because a

<<2275>> lot of people are living with

<<2276>> symptoms of constipation or

<<2280>> ibs or bloating or

<<2283>> uh symptoms to certain foods and that

<<2285>> that has become normalized because it's

<<2287>> very common and very prevalent in

<<2289>> society today

<<2290>> so it's really important to to address

<<2292>> these digestive concerns so

<<2294>> while we've got some of the experts on

<<2296>> the panel what are some of the key

<<2297>> things that you think

<<2299>> are important for a healthy digestion

<<2301>> for children

<<2302>> over to you mariella well i think

<<2305>> that a whole foods

<<2308>> mainly plant-based diet gives

<<2312>> that basis the prebiotics

<<2315>> we need and children need for uh

<<2318>> for a regular digestion and for having

<<2322>> a healthy gut and

<<2325>> remember that what goes in and in

<<2328>> must come out so um

<<2332>> and that should happen on a daily basis

<<2334>> even more than once

<<2335>> a day for our children so we should be

<<2338>> careful that

<<2340>> they they have this this digestion

<<2344>> and if this does not happen

<<2348>> then we should talk to specialists we

<<2352>> should look at

<<2355>> pre-probiotic supplementation

<<2357>> we use pb assist for our children

<<2360>> regularly for a week and then we stop

<<2364>> and then

<<2365>> because it's important to repopulate

<<2367>> their

<<2368>> guts with healthy bacteria as well

<<2371>> and also we use lots of fermented foods

<<2375>> i know vanessa that you are

<<2376>> a supporter of this and you also have

<<2378>> your wonderful recipes for how

<<2380>> easy it is to ferment at home and

<<2383>> traditionally in our cultures

<<2385>> um also in eastern europe we

<<2388>> um we prepare cabbage cucumbers

<<2392>> naturally fermented and my pair my my

<<2395>> children are part

<<2396>> of my their grandparents process of

<<2399>> doing

<<2400>> um and preparing these foods every year

<<2402>> so then

<<2403>> they see it they do it they eat it and

<<2406>> um that's more healthy

<<2408>> bacteria from that food alone

<<2411>> so that's that's quite that's quite

<<2413>> important and parents should be very

<<2415>> careful that their children

<<2417>> have a healthy intestinal transit

<<2422>> yeah you're absolutely right

<<2423>> fermentation is one of my passions

<<2425>> because i think it's

<<2426>> such an inexpensive easy way

<<2429>> to repopulate the gut with healthy

<<2431>> bacteria

<<2432>> and it can be a flavor that can be hard

<<2434>> for children to take on board so

<<2435>> you can start with literally a bit of

<<2437>> the juice and

<<2438>> a little bit added to food and then once

<<2440>> they get used to that sour taste you can

<<2442>> get them eating it by the spoonful so it

<<2444>> can take a bit of adjustment

<<2445>> but you're absolutely right such an

<<2447>> inexpensive way that's been used

<<2449>> in cultures all over the world perhaps

<<2451>> not so much in the west but we need to

<<2453>> get people more used to this

<<2455>> what about you pablo what would you um

<<2458>> recommend for gut health

<<2460>> as i said i'm i think i'm

<<2463>> a long-term specialist about the gut

<<2465>> health let's say mainly for for adults

<<2468>> adult people but but i had a lot of kids

<<2471>> patients

<<2472>> too with many many gut problems and it

<<2475>> really depends if you are talking about

<<2477>> healthy kids and kids with some issues

<<2480>> it's like of course the

<<2481>> different approaches and we can we can

<<2483>> see this uh different

<<2484>> uh what we do we can handle something

<<2487>> with food and something we can

<<2489>> really really join join to our

<<2493>> to our regimen like this

<<2496>> this probiotics and probiotics i really

<<2499>> love the

<<2500>> probiotics which is like pbss because it

<<2503>> certainly can help

<<2504>> restore all the end in their system and

<<2507>> as we know

<<2508>> all the immune system is very important

<<2510>> and it's it's

<<2511>> it's uh it's in our gothic so it's so

<<2514>> important things and and as well as we

<<2517>> are talking

<<2518>> about as we are talking about this topic

<<2520>> it's a

<<2521>> very good to use the zen chest oils in

<<2524>> in many

<<2524>> many many ways we we have as like touch

<<2527>> for kids and

<<2529>> to to massage them to do the stomach or

<<2531>> to do the feeds because

<<2533>> it's really helpful i really recommend

<<2535>> it to do it on a regular basis because

<<2537>> uh

<<2538>> it's it's true that that mainly the kids

<<2541>> are more healthier because they are

<<2543>> younger and

<<2543>> their system is working better but still

<<2546>> what i can see that i don't know as i am

<<2549>> like a little bit older generation i

<<2551>> think

<<2552>> i'm a really a little bit older mother

<<2554>> than who you both

<<2555>> are so i can see the the big difference

<<2558>> in between the generation like is mine

<<2560>> and older we we grew in another and

<<2563>> in a different environment

<<2566>> more or less with better food with

<<2568>> better quality food is and

<<2570>> and the kids which are now like

<<2573>> 20 years old they are in much worse

<<2578>> in much worse environment they are only

<<2580>> eating the food which are

<<2581>> more or less proceed and more or less

<<2583>> industrial way

<<2585>> made and as well our small kids they

<<2588>> have a really big problem and they have

<<2590>> a very small amount

<<2591>> these natural things so so we are

<<2594>> much more often dealing with the problem

<<2597>> with god with small kids so

<<2599>> i'm i'm i'm so i'm so

<<2602>> i'm so active to recommend it to parents

<<2605>> to use dozengest

<<2607>> probiotics enzymes

<<2610>> helping kids too and of course

<<2614>> of course vitamins and of course we

<<2616>> didn't say anything

<<2618>> about the omega omega 3 assets and and

<<2621>> so on since it's very important to

<<2624>> to keep it working absolutely my

<<2626>> daughter thinks pbs sisters like

<<2628>> sweeties she absolutely

<<2629>> loves the flavor and normally i give her

<<2632>> one and she says can i have more and i

<<2633>> feel

<<2634>> a bit like yeah why not you're having

<<2636>> more probiotics so it's great that we've

<<2638>> got an

<<2639>> option for probiotics that actually kids

<<2641>> really really love

<<2643>> so for me gut health is really about not

<<2646>> ignoring your symptoms because

<<2648>> i i don't know if it's the same in your

<<2650>> country but in the uk

<<2652>> it's now become accepted to have several

<<2654>> intolerances to foods

<<2656>> and what happens is they ignore those

<<2658>> symptoms and then

<<2659>> the amount of foods that they can eat

<<2661>> gets smaller and smaller and smaller

<<2664>> and i would just encourage parents to

<<2666>> seek help because if your child

<<2668>> is getting bloating or they are avoiding

<<2671>> certain

<<2672>> foods or they're getting cramps

<<2673>> particularly when kids are stressed

<<2675>> exam time and this can heighten

<<2677>> digestive complaints

<<2679>> don't ignore them they are your body's

<<2682>> signposts to something that needs

<<2683>> addressing

<<2684>> and go out get professional help you

<<2686>> know there is help out there and

<<2687>> resources out there to go and seek

<<2689>> people who will give you

<<2691>> some support and some knowledge and help

<<2694>> you address those symptoms so that would

<<2695>> be my

<<2696>> advice to parents out there so one of

<<2698>> the things i think parents can be really

<<2700>> confused about

<<2701>> is what to give their children in their

<<2704>> lunch boxes for school

<<2706>> and there can be a lot of peer pressure

<<2708>> about from other children about what can

<<2710>> be healthy to eat

<<2711>> how can we encourage and give our

<<2714>> children the best nutrition

<<2716>> in the lunch boxes at school um over to

<<2719>> you marilla what do you think

<<2721>> well if we uh think of sending

<<2725>> uh the lunch box from home then it's

<<2727>> great because we have a lot of um

<<2730>> control um and we can do a good job

<<2734>> there instead of having them eat at

<<2736>> school which

<<2737>> can vary varies from country to country

<<2740>> from

<<2741>> also from custom customs of certain

<<2744>> countries to other customs because

<<2746>> for example in eastern europe a lunch is

<<2749>> generally composed of a first course

<<2751>> which is a soup

<<2752>> and the second course was which is

<<2754>> generally some sort of

<<2756>> protein while in the mediterranean parts

<<2760>> of europe

<<2761>> it's generally first course cereal pasta

<<2765>> or other grains and second

<<2768>> course another sort of healthy

<<2771>> protein hopefully healthy and so my

<<2774>> suggestion for an easy

<<2776>> lunch box is to have it all in one

<<2779>> because then you can have

<<2781>> healthy cereal in this in the form of

<<2784>> whole rice or some sort of a rice

<<2788>> salad where you can add in peas and

<<2791>> carrots and

<<2792>> the traditional italian pasta fredda

<<2795>> or um or rizo in salata de riso that's

<<2799>> the rice salad it's so easy to do and

<<2801>> it's so full of nutrients and

<<2803>> um doesn't need heating you just put it

<<2806>> in the box

<<2807>> and the child has it right there and

<<2810>> it's nutrition

<<2811>> test so that would be one of my

<<2814>> main suggestions and obviously always

<<2817>> include healthy oils

<<2820>> extra virgin olive oil which is food for

<<2824>> their brains because they will need

<<2826>> both the energy from carbohydrates to

<<2829>> continue

<<2830>> the day at school and some um

<<2833>> healthy oils again for their brain

<<2836>> to be functioning right

<<2839>> perfect yeah really great suggestions

<<2841>> what about you pavlov

<<2844>> uh i have to say that like uh here in in

<<2847>> in czech republic and

<<2848>> and like slovak republic we used to have

<<2851>> and we still have um

<<2855>> lunches in the schools mainly it's

<<2857>> managed by the schools

<<2859>> and the true the truth is that they are

<<2862>> like

<<2862>> managed more or less pretty well

<<2865>> it's not tasty but but let's say the the

<<2869>> the composition of the food it's not so

<<2871>> bad but but

<<2872>> kids are complaining because they cannot

<<2874>> eat them because it's not really good

<<2875>> taste and so that's they so many times

<<2878>> prefer to go to go to eat some fast food

<<2880>> so it's

<<2881>> really not not solution so it's a little

<<2884>> bit problem i think

<<2886>> the parents need to deal with this

<<2888>> because

<<2889>> on on one on one side they had they have

<<2892>> opportunity to put the kids to the

<<2894>> school

<<2894>> to the school kitchen which is like more

<<2897>> or less good

<<2898>> but not not not tasty

<<2902>> and so i think there is not so many

<<2905>> often that

<<2906>> that that parents preparing lunches for

<<2908>> kids

<<2909>> to do squares because it's it's anyway

<<2913>> this or another way it's handled

<<2916>> i remember my my kids they they were

<<2919>> living

<<2919>> next door to the school they they came

<<2921>> back for the lunches so it was for them

<<2924>> great and they they made it for

<<2926>> themselves mostly

<<2929>> no that's great so in in in england they

<<2932>> have hot lunches too but quite often

<<2934>> people will do

<<2935>> packed lunches for the reason uh the

<<2937>> kids don't necessarily like the hot

<<2939>> lunches

<<2940>> um for me i'm a big fan of leftovers i'm

<<2943>> a big fan of batch cooking i can i do

<<2945>> not have the time

<<2946>> to cook meals from scratch all the time

<<2948>> so very similar tomorrow i'll make

<<2950>> things like

<<2950>> rice salads i'll be make a dal i'll make

<<2953>> a soup and i can

<<2954>> serve that up the next day in lunch in

<<2957>> in special containers

<<2958>> i have um actually i have little

<<2960>> segmented lunch boxes

<<2962>> metal lunch boxes that we reuse it gets

<<2964>> a lot of packaging

<<2965>> but also i can do things like hummus and

<<2968>> vegetables

<<2969>> sticks things that kids really love to

<<2972>> kind of pick at

<<2973>> um and that gives them all of the

<<2975>> nutrients that they have at school and

<<2977>> then don't forget then they don't have

<<2978>> so much choice right

<<2980>> and it also saves you a lot of money and

<<2983>> it's much more ethical

<<2984>> you don't have all this packaging all

<<2985>> this plastic packaging to deal with as

<<2987>> well

<<2987>> so for me i have the special lunch box

<<2989>> that i rewash

<<2990>> and i have a lot of parents who say to

<<2993>> me how do we avoid

<<2994>> the the sugar from the hot dinners

<<2997>> because we have desserts in this country

<<2999>> and if it's the same way you guys are um

<<3001>> and

<<3002>> i think you have to be a little bit

<<3004>> strong with the schools if that's the

<<3005>> case and say

<<3006>> your preference so if you don't want

<<3008>> your children to have those desserts

<<3009>> with the refined sugar

<<3011>> then insist that they have fruit for

<<3013>> dessert and then you have a little bit

<<3015>> more control because

<<3017>> we are bombarded with sugar and at the

<<3019>> time when we need to look after our

<<3020>> immune system

<<3022>> we need to think about reducing the

<<3024>> sugar intake

<<3025>> so have those conversation those open

<<3027>> dialogues with the school

<<3029>> and if you are using hot dinners get

<<3031>> them on board with

<<3032>> supporting perhaps healthier desserts um

<<3035>> to go alongside those hot dinners as

<<3037>> well so that you have a little bit more

<<3039>> control

<<3041>> so that just leaves us to wrap up today
