<<14>> We have the privilege to work with fabulous partners here

<<17>> who are really experts in the development

<<20>> of manuka plantations and the distillation of Manuka oil.

<<25>> - Our company's been involved with Manuka oil

<<27>> for 30 years now.

<<29>> All of our production has, you know,

<<32>> for the first 20 years, was from wild harvest.

<<37>> We've worked and trialled some plantation areas

<<40>> in the earlier years.

<<42>> And we have some small areas

<<44>> which we've continued to work with.

<<47>> We've been fortunate to, you know, partner with doTERRA

<<53>> and that's enabled us to develop a plantation

<<57>> on a large scale,

<<59>> so that we can get more of this Manuka oil out to the world.

<<63>> The community here is a Maori community.

<<67>> So, the land is almost all still Maori land,

<<72>> which means it's not land that's been bought and sold.

<<75>> It's been land that's been passed down

<<77>> through the generations.

<<79>> So, it's actually meant,

<<80>> there's quite a lot of small land blocks here,

<<82>> which really have become uneconomic in terms of farming.

<<87>> So, we are working together with those landowners.

<<89>> - We have a Maori saying.

<<94>> So, that means that, you know, we, as people,

<<98>> eventually, we're going to disappear,

<<100>> whereas the land will always be there.

<<103>> So, this partnership with doTERRA isn't for us.

<<107>> It's not for our generation.

<<109>> It's for all the generations to come.
