doTERRA Healing Hands - Step-By-Step

<<5>> - The Step-By-Step mentoring program is aimed

<<8>> to help underprivileged children in the Dobrich area

<<11>> to give them a safe space,

<<14>> which is kind of like a family-like environment.

<<17>> - They're between four and 18 years old.

<<20>> Usually, they'd come from disadvantaged families

<<23>> in the Dobrich area.

<<25>> Sometimes, kids comes from family,

<<27>> they cannot provide the minimal living conditions.

<<30>> They see abuse, sometimes they see drugs.

<<33>> The children in these families could be exposed

<<36>> to social isolation like dropping out of school,

<<39>> maybe the worst violence and abuse, human trafficking.

<<43>> The mentorship program helps the children

<<45>> by our personal examples,

<<47>> helping them develop the skills they will need in future

<<51>> to make good decisions for their lives.

<<54>> - Soft skills, so to be curious,

<<57>> to be open-minded, to have empathy.

<<59>> So we want to give the kids

<<62>> the most valuable true superpowers.

<<64>> - I miss the love of my parents.

<<68>> With what I learned, I successfully passed seventh grade and was accepted at new school.

<<76>> I really want to, because whatever we've seen from you,

<<80>> you have helped us develop greatly.

<<83>> Generally speaking we need you,

<<86>> as well as other children will have needs.

<<89>> - We are three coordinators, many volunteers.

<<94>> They share almost every Saturday with the kids.

<<98>> - Everyone represents something different for the kids.

<<101>> They have different professions,

<<103>> so this may help the kids to bond with other people

<<108>> and to enrich their mindset.

<<111>> - This program teaches us how to make tough decisions at a given moment.

<<115>> It also helps us make the right decisions when it comes to complex everyday tasks.

<<127>> that I am incredibly grateful to these people, who were there for me.

<<130>> Without them I would not have what I have now.

<<134>> Having a job as a chef, as well as the opportunity to develop my own career.

<<141>> Having a career like a chef, as well as having a driver's license.

<<143>> - On the weekdays, we are helping with their homework,

<<145>> we are preparing for their state exams.

<<148>> We are talking about prevention.

<<150>> - Weekends, it's a time

<<152>> for like family activities.

<<155>> We're cooking, laughing with sport.

<<158>> - We're trying to provide for the kids the same experiences

<<162>> like those who are raised in the normal families.

<<165>> - We're so very pleased to have been able

<<167>> to support the Step-By-Step mentoring program for many years

<<171>> because of the powerful long-term impact it has,

<<173>> not just for each child,

<<176>> but also subsequently the whole community.

<<179>> - doTERRA became involved from the very beginning.

<<182>> They are the people that find this important

<<185>> to provide the kids opportunities for a better life.

<<190>> - The region served by Step by Step - Dobrich and the villages around Dobrich -

<<195>> is very important for doTERRA because in the fields around Dobrich work many of the parents

<<199>> whose children are in this centre.
