<<12>> kick starting to tear europe was an

<<14>> exciting time in those days we just had

<<16>> a very little warehouse in the uk run by

<<20>> matt dawson and melvin peckram

<<23>> when i started

<<24>> working for doterra i was one of three

<<27>> customer service agents dedicated to

<<29>> europe when somebody called customer

<<32>> service they always got

<<34>> me

<<35>> at least when they called from germany

<<37>> or switzerland or austria

<<39>> it was a very interesting time when i

<<41>> started the european market was very

<<44>> small

<<45>> i started as an employee with doterra i

<<48>> started as director of sales and

<<49>> marketing for europe our first tours we

<<52>> were happy when we had even 25 people to

<<56>> us was it was a good number you know i

<<58>> remember we had some some meetings where

<<61>> we ended up just being with a local

<<63>> leader and having a one-on-one meeting

<<66>> because nobody showed jurgen and murray

<<69>> and i we we were customer service we

<<71>> were account management we were sales

<<73>> manager we were the events team the

<<75>> marketing department we did basically

<<78>> everything that we have departments for

<<80>> now

<<82>> in 2015

<<85>> we were in a small

<<87>> town in austria the name was gumunden

<<90>> and we had one of our first conventions

<<93>> it was

<<94>> it was in the early days where we would

<<97>> love to have 300 or 400 people come

<<99>> together i remember calling up jurgen

<<103>> and calling up christian

<<105>> and we announced at that convention

<<108>> that we were moving to austria all three

<<111>> families this was a huge

<<113>> opportunity i felt like for us it

<<115>> changed like everything

<<117>> everything

<<118>> that we've done so far we didn't have

<<120>> the wonderful pleasant grove campus

<<122>> there wasn't

<<123>> all these buildings and spaces

<<126>> we were spread out in a city called

<<128>> aurum i was

<<130>> given the the reception desk people

<<133>> thought because next door to us was an

<<136>> orthodontist or a dentist

<<138>> they thought we were the dentist office

<<141>> they usually ask me so it's doctor

<<142>> so-and-so in and i said that it's

<<144>> actually on the other side it's over

<<146>> there murray and christian i mean that

<<148>> was that was the beginning the and

<<151>> jurgen right and they set up that little

<<153>> office there in austria and it was the

<<155>> three of them against the world

<<157>> the nice thing about it was that doterra

<<159>> does always attract good people so it

<<162>> was really exciting to work with those

<<164>> people who became our first leaders they

<<166>> were such

<<167>> good honest hard-working people and it

<<170>> was just a pleasure to work with them it

<<172>> was very much

<<173>> leader driven within the markets they

<<175>> had a deep enough conviction that

<<178>> that when they talked to somebody about

<<180>> doterra and about the oils that people

<<182>> listened and paid attention

<<184>> i have to share

<<186>> my aha moment it was actually

<<189>> in phoenix arizona in the middle of

<<192>> march 2014

<<194>> and i was sitting with with emily wright

<<197>> and we were at

<<198>> a leadership retreat and there was over

<<202>> 3 000 of these leaders that had come and

<<205>> i knew at that moment

<<207>> that that was going to be

<<210>> what europe would turn into eventually

<<213>> and then what the region would turn into

<<215>> eventually one of the reasons why i was

<<217>> was where i never doubted that doterra

<<219>> would be big in europe was that

<<221>> the the products don't need to be sold

<<223>> they literally sell themselves so for my

<<225>> first months at doterra maybe we would

<<228>> be in

<<229>> a small hotel

<<230>> with 50 to 100 people

<<233>> and we'd have a powerpoint presentation

<<236>> you know on your pull down screen at the

<<239>> hotel

<<240>> compared to one of the last events that

<<243>> we did in london and we had emilia

<<245>> wright come along and it almost seemed

<<248>> like a mini convention so to go from a

<<251>> small meeting room to over a thousand

<<254>> people it was just a different level i

<<256>> recall in my second week i was fortunate

<<259>> to to go to a diamond summit in austria

<<262>> my previous company that i worked for it

<<264>> really felt like a family the key

<<266>> prerequisite for me in joining a new

<<268>> company was it had that same sense of

<<270>> belonging so after meeting

<<272>> these amazing group of leaders

<<274>> at the event you know everything was

<<276>> very natural everybody seemed

<<279>> very committed

<<281>> but also it was very organic my first

<<283>> ever interaction with our advocates was

<<286>> at the london convention in 2018 it was

<<290>> so eye-opening to see what doterra truly

<<293>> stands for it helped me understand and

<<295>> fall in love with the company so much

<<297>> more one thing that i love most about my

<<300>> job is the relationships that we get to

<<301>> build with the leaders with the

<<303>> relationships we get to build especially

<<305>> as account managers they become my

<<307>> friends it's exciting to wake up and

<<309>> know that we

<<310>> can bring

<<312>> new products into europe it's exciting

<<314>> to think that

<<315>> we've been able to put together a whole

<<317>> manufacturing facility

<<320>> i've been amazed at how much the

<<322>> company's grown just in this short

<<324>> period of time that i've been here in

<<326>> six months it's just been a great

<<327>> journey i feel like part of the family

<<329>> already accompanied with the heart is

<<330>> what the terror is one constant

<<332>> throughout every day you know the highs

<<335>> and lows of what we're trying to do what

<<336>> we're trying to build is is that we are

<<338>> stewards of the culture

<<340>> everything that we've done to prepare

<<342>> the foundation and remembering

<<345>> what we've done in the past is for the

<<346>> future and i've never felt now

<<350>> more than ever that it's the best time

<<352>> to be with doterra

<<354>> it's not corporate that that builds a

<<357>> market

<<358>> it's actually the leaders that do it and

<<360>> our partnership with the leaders it's

<<362>> always good to look back and see where

<<364>> we've come from but to me it's more

<<367>> exciting to see where we're going in the

<<369>> future it's because of all of those

<<371>> things that have been done that

<<372>> foundation that's been set built on the

<<375>> original founders

<<377>> foundation that we we have the

<<379>> opportunity to do these amazing things

<<381>> together we grew up together we grew up

<<383>> with you leaders that are now

<<386>> diamonds and blue diamonds and

<<388>> presidential diamonds

<<390>> every day there's something new there's

<<392>> a new place there's a new person

<<394>> that we get to help

<<396>> and even after 11 years you know still

<<398>> looking out and seeing

<<400>> all of the people out there who have no

<<402>> idea who we are

<<403>> that keeps me pretty excited
