<<4>> - The way the oil is extracted, it's an oleoresin,

<<26>> We're about an hour and a half as he's drilled

<<28>> through the tree to collect just this much oil.

<<32>> It helps you understand how much work goes into collecting this oil

<<36>> and after this is distilled, it's about 50% yield,

<<39>> so we'll get about half as much oil,

<<41>> and then he'll come back to this tree six months later and

<<44>> he'll be able to get about a liter worth of resin from this tree.

<<50>> - Copaiba oil, it really has kind of hit the scientific community

<<55>> like a shooting star and we didn't really understand what was so neat

<<58>> about it until the research started coming in about beta-caryophyllene.

<<62>> So the way that we understand it, the phytocannabinoids,

<<65>> so the beta-caryophyllene in this case, comes in

<<69>> and interacts with a receptor on the cell surface.

<<72>> There's a cascade, there's this chain reaction of things
