<<11>> So in November of 2019 I was very privileged to be able to go
<<15>> on the doTERRA Co-Impact Sourcing – Healing Hands trip to Kenya.
<<20>> It was so much more than I thought it was going to be.
<<23>> There’s the Healing Hands side of it, where there’s a service project, so for us
<<27>> we went and helped build part of a fence around a school and then there’s the
<<32>> Co-Impact side where you get to go and see and meet the people and understand
<<37>> how these amazing plants are grown for the amazing essential oils that we know and love.
<<43>> There’s a couple of difference regions where doTERRA source and do Co-Impact projects.
<<48>> In Kenya there’s Lunga-Lunga, which is down on the coast.
<<51>> It’s the poorest part of Kenya and very much forgotten by the government and then there’s
<<55>> the Nanuki region which is up the higher altitude and there’s more money and wealth and agriculture.
<<65>> There’s an 800 person waiting list just to be able to partner with doTERRA.
<<69>> I met with a guy called Samuel, who was one of the field officers down in the
<<73>> Lunga-Lunga region and a field officer takes care of about 150 to 200 small-holder farms.
<<79>> He was saying that in this one area doTERRA is putting over 2 million dollars
<<83>> so far into the local community and he says it has changed the lives of the kids so much.
<<88>> You can physically see where there was once just mud huts and when a big rain
<<94>> comes through they wash away.
<<96>> There’s actually brick structures, there’s concrete. You can physically see the difference
<<100>> of the money that it’s bringing into these communities. So the story
<<106>> where you can connect this little beautiful bottle of oil that we get so many benefits from,
<<111>> but then you see the impact that it’s having in these communities,
<<115>> it just makes that bottle even more special.
<<118>> It’s such a life changing experience and I love Co-Impact Sourcing,
<<123>> I love Healing Hands.
<<125>> Every time you share one of these bottles of oil, so many great things are happening.
