<<1>> - What is stress to me?
<<2>> That's a very broad question.
<<4>> - I feel like, is this heaviness and this pressure.
<<8>> - My body gets warmer.
<<10>> I start sweating sometimes.
<<12>> - Stress for me is that which is not known.
<<16>> - At least in my life, it's when I feel overwhelmed.
<<19>> - When it comes to finances.
<<20>> - Your head's in the past
<<21>> and the future, just worrying.
<<24>> - A big stress factor for me
<<26>> was coming back from Vietnam.
<<28>> - Yes, my mom is deaf,
<<30>> and there is also some stress involved
<<35>> with being a child of a deaf parent.
<<38>> - Just a bit about me;
<<39>> I grew up the tallest girl in my school,
<<42>> so that definitely set me apart.
<<46>> I think for a while I was pretty insecure about it
<<49>> and that brought me some stress.
<<51>> - I am a mom; I have five kids.
<<54>> You run into this almost scarcity issue as parents
<<59>> where you just literally feel like
<<61>> there's just not enough.
<<63>> There's not enough time to give them,
<<66>> there's not enough emotional energy
<<68>> and support to give them, there's not enough money
<<71>> to provide all the things that they need and want.
<<74>> - With technology in general,
<<76>> it feels like there's this expectation
<<79>> to let someone know what you're doing constantly,
<<81>> otherwise you just don't exist.
<<83>> It feels like you have to be connected
<<85>> with everyone else almost 24/7.
<<89>> - It's definitely hard for me to use social media.
<<93>> - Everything is perfect.
<<94>> All the pictures you post, you edit them to perfection,
<<97>> and seeing everyone's perfect pictures
<<101>> that you know have been edited
<<103>> but you still compare yourself to that.
<<106>> - It rears its ugly head in the form of headaches
<<110>> and back pain and sadness,
<<115>> feelings of unworthiness.
<<121>> It's unfortunately a big part of my life.
<<128>> - But a good word is adapt.
<<130>> One of the things that I've learned
<<132>> is you have to be adaptable.
<<134>> - Some things that I do to adapt;
<<138>> first of all, just acknowledging
<<140>> that it's a battle for me
<<141>> and recognizing when those patterns of behaviour
<<145>> of wanting to cancel and panicking
<<147>> and wanting to stay in bed are coming up.
<<152>> - Dancing is one of the few times
<<154>> where I don't get in my head,
<<156>> so I'm really present.
<<158>> Any time I can find something
<<159>> that helps me be present.
<<162>> - Nothing relives stress better for me
<<164>> than just picking up my acoustic guitar
<<167>> and just playing some of my favourite songs.
<<170>> - I love to knit when I'm stressed.
<<173>> I know, it's kinda foolish.
<<175>> But it really does take your mind off of it
<<178>> because you have one thing to focus on.
<<180>> - You have to recognise, and I think that's a part
<<182>> of this recognition process.
<<184>> There are things in life, you know this,
<<187>> that you simply can't control.
<<189>> You can't.
<<190>> You can stress about it all you want to
<<192>> and that still doesn't give you any control.
<<196>> - We'll just have you hold it here
<<197>> for a second. - Okay.
<<198>> - Go ahead and smell it.
<<199>> Tell us what you think. - Smell it?
<<216>> - This is very pleasant.
<<218>> - That smells really good.
<<221>> - It's very calming.
<<223>> - Soothing.
<<226>> I feel clear.
<<228>> - I would love to have this
<<229>> going through my house in the mornings.
<<231>> I would just ...
<<232>> - I get it through my body
<<234>> of just feeling light and positive.
