<<27>> the lows and how that really helped
<<28>> shape the leader that he is today this
<<31>> conversation is also available in

<<71>> on our podcast today despite your
<<73>> incredibly busy schedule thank you for
<<76>> joining us and welcome to the Tera you
<<79>> that was that was ridiculously kind
<<81>> thank you so much it's an honor to be
<<83>> here I'm
<<84>> excited thank you so much Matt so Matt
<<88>> you are the mindset King
<<90>> and at the end of the day is it all
<<92>> about
<<94>> mindset I think it's I think it's mostly
<<96>> about
<<97>> mindset uh in our business and there are
<<100>> definitely skills that as you acquire
<<104>> skills uh you will have greater success
<<107>> but I think that I think that mindset is
<<109>> the multiplier right so if you have two
<<112>> people that have the exact same skills
<<114>> the same abilities the same knowledge
<<116>> about the business it's going to be the
<<118>> person that has the strong er uh mindset
<<121>> that's going to build a bigger business
<<123>> so I think it's the I think it's the
<<124>> most important maybe 80 90% of
<<127>> everything is mindset to
<<129>> me um and as part of that so I know that
<<134>> you have uh uh started with a bit of an
<<137>> uncertain detera Journey uh and then
<<140>> eventually you got to be a Double
<<142>> Diamond uh you've mentioned before that
<<144>> there were a few like I think four years
<<146>> that that were a bit shaky um so when
<<150>> did the tide turn for you and and how
<<152>> did you make that tide
<<154>> turn oh that is a long story let me
<<157>> comess it down so yeah I'd say we joined
<<161>> otera and our Big Goal initially was to
<<163>> become diamond in one year and so that's
<<166>> what we had our vision on our mindset on
<<170>> I think that's part of why it was
<<171>> difficult um because we had some results
<<175>> quickly you know we achieved Elite our
<<177>> first month but then we sat stagnant at
<<180>> that Elite rank for 10 months before we
<<182>> broke through and hit Premiere and then
<<184>> we went through another plateau of four
<<187>> years at platinum and that felt like
<<190>> Agony to us even though we had a certain
<<192>> level of income you know it wasn't the
<<194>> dream of being a diamond it wasn't that
<<196>> that freedom that we felt like we would
<<197>> achieve when we hit diamond and so
<<200>> definitely there were lessons we learned
<<203>> and shifts in our mindset in each one
<<206>> getting through each of those plateaus
<<209>> and that's part of why I'm so passionate
<<210>> about talking about mindset and teaching
<<213>> these almost spiritual aspects of
<<215>> success is because it was those lessons
<<217>> that I feel like made the difference it
<<219>> wasn't a script I learned it wasn't you
<<221>> know uh an approach it wasn't a a
<<223>> strategy or a reel that I did it was
<<226>> really my wife and I working on our mind
<<229>> and our beliefs that helped to catapult
<<231>> us to higher levels of
<<234>> success and you mentioned there like a
<<237>> few Lessons Learned uh do you want to
<<240>> share a few of those lessons that you've
<<242>> learned during the journey sure sure so
<<245>> if I take our two biggest plateaus as
<<248>> examples you know the the time that we
<<250>> spent almost a year that we spent at the
<<252>> level of elite um we did not have a
<<257>> strong mindset or belief around the
<<259>> opportunity of dotera the opportunity of
<<261>> network marketing we didn't have a
<<262>> passion like today if you were to ask me
<<265>> I'd say inise you need to quit your
<<267>> corporate job right now and come and
<<268>> build a business with us and that's my
<<270>> level of passion I just believe that
<<272>> what we're doing is the best thing and
<<274>> what every single person should be
<<276>> involved with in some way now don't quit
<<278>> your job because we need you on the
<<279>> corporate side but but that's my level
<<282>> of belief right and
<<284>> so evolving into that is when we started
<<288>> to attract business Builders and move
<<291>> away from just Product Promotion which
<<293>> we were really good at we loved the
<<295>> products we were easily able to get
<<297>> customers and when we had that mindset
<<300>> shift and we became super passionate
<<301>> about the business that's when we
<<304>> started to see people flooding in to
<<305>> build the business and that helped us
<<307>> catapult from Elite hitting Premiere we
<<309>> spent just four months at Premiere then
<<311>> we skipped silver and hit gold and the
<<313>> very next month we hit Platinum so in
<<314>> two months we went from Premiere to
<<316>> platinum because we had so many people
<<318>> joining the business because of our
<<319>> passion uh and belief in the business um
<<322>> and then if you take the other big
<<325>> Plateau you know four years at
<<327>> Platinum um that was that was painful
<<330>> for us too cuz we were Platinum but like
<<332>> maybe some can resonate with on this
<<333>> call we were really requalifying as gold
<<336>> sometimes even silver and it was our
<<338>> only income and we wanted so badly and
<<341>> we're working so hard to hit diamond and
<<343>> I think there were a few shifts for us
<<346>> during this phase uh one was we decided
<<350>> that no matter what happened above us or
<<352>> below us that truly our success was
<<356>> going to be dependent on us so instead
<<358>> of just obsessing over the leaders that
<<360>> we had I told the story in Lisbon of you
<<363>> know just focusing on launching these
<<365>> people that they didn't want to fly we
<<367>> compare them to chickens we love
<<369>> chickens right but they didn't want to
<<371>> fly and soar and become strong powerful
<<373>> independent leaders they wanted us to be
<<375>> there to lift them up over and over and
<<377>> over again and to grow big in this
<<379>> business you need to find and develop
<<381>> strong powerful independent leaders and
<<382>> so when we decided to shift our focus
<<385>> into creating Independence in others
<<388>> into uh building lead leadership in
<<390>> others and finding people who were
<<392>> already in that position of influence in
<<394>> leadership that's when our business
<<396>> evolved to Diamond and blue diamond a
<<398>> year after and presidential a year after
<<401>> that awesome and um you you mentioned
<<404>> there was a shift there from like the
<<406>> communicating more products to
<<408>> communicating more the business and the
<<410>> mindset do you feel like the people that
<<413>> you attracted with that change also
<<415>> change like so the people that you
<<417>> attract when you communicate just the
<<419>> product and then the people you attract
<<421>> when you start communicating more the
<<423>> business side and more the leadership
<<424>> and mindset side yeah yes and no I think
<<428>> I think you'll attract different people
<<430>> and to be clear we still talk more I
<<432>> would say about the products than the
<<434>> business but we just have a balance of
<<436>> belief and in in our communication and
<<439>> so even while some of the people might
<<441>> have been the same the results that we
<<443>> got because of our belief and our
<<445>> communication shifted so someone who we
<<448>> would have just pinned them as a
<<449>> customer customer and they would have
<<450>> been a customer forever because we never
<<452>> presented to them the door or we
<<454>> presented the door to them building the
<<456>> business but not in a passionate way
<<458>> with with the shine in our eyes to say
<<460>> you know this is what this is what you
<<462>> should do you should do it with us we're
<<463>> the best people you could do this with
<<464>> we're going to the top you know that
<<467>> that passion shifts a customer into a
<<469>> shareer or a builder and so there's that
<<473>> aspect and then I do believe as you as
<<475>> you also alluded to that you do attract
<<477>> a different type of person you attract
<<480>> that which you're looking for um and so
<<482>> definitely we started to find more
<<484>> business Builders as we talked more
<<486>> about the business as well people that
<<487>> already had credibility and had been
<<489>> successful in business in the
<<492>> past perfect um and we already set
<<495>> mindset a lot in this podcast um but uh
<<498>> do you think that uh talking and
<<501>> thinking about mindset it's is it a
<<506>> privilege so
<<509>> yes I think in some ways I I've I've
<<513>> reflected a little bit on this concept
<<517>> uh since you first you know asked me a
<<519>> little bit about this and I I do think
<<521>> that there are circumstances in our life
<<523>> that set us up for that can set us up
<<527>> for great success that can be a
<<528>> privilege to us I think that mindset is
<<531>> one of the things that that obviously
<<534>> anyone can develop you hear so many
<<536>> stories of people overcoming difficult
<<537>> things and it's almost like the greatest
<<540>> mindsets come from people who went
<<542>> through the hardest challenges in life
<<545>> and so I think that uh a strong mindset
<<548>> is AC accessible to anyone and even in
<<552>> people that come from a more privileged
<<554>> background sometimes or oftentimes their
<<558>> mindset is weaker because of that uh I I
<<562>> I love working with people an example is
<<565>> is the way that I work like I love
<<567>> working with people that are have really
<<569>> struggled in the past or are currently
<<571>> struggling a lot and helping them to
<<573>> overcome those struggles in part because
<<576>> their story becomes so much more
<<578>> impactful but also because instead of
<<581>> having a fixed mindset they have a
<<583>> growth mindset right when you have
<<585>> someone who has a privilege or a
<<586>> successful background oftentimes their
<<588>> mindset is kind of fixed and it might be
<<591>> it might be more difficult for them to
<<593>> go into the next phase of growth uh
<<595>> anyone who comes from a background of
<<597>> difficulty or struggle
<<600>> usually they're more open and they have
<<601>> more of a growth mindset and so there's
<<604>> no limit to how far a growth mindset can
<<606>> take you right
<<609>> so perfect sounds good and um I've heard
<<613>> you speak as well often about
<<616>> expectations versus reality and uh how
<<619>> do you approach this with your Builders
<<622>> and and your
<<623>> leaders yeah I like to different than
<<628>> you really did your research wow uh
<<631>> different than most builders in the way
<<634>> that they work like for them to recruit
<<636>> someone they're going to tell them
<<638>> everything that they will do to support
<<640>> that person so hey I'm going to be here
<<642>> with you every step of the way I'm going
<<643>> to help you with your presentations I'm
<<645>> gonna do this for you I'm gonna put
<<647>> people under you I'm gonna you know have
<<649>> a promotion for you they they they sell
<<652>> everything that they're going to do and
<<655>> what that does is it creates
<<656>> expectations and expectations not me
<<659>> become frustrations in the future and so
<<662>> I like to do the opposite where I
<<664>> actually almost discourage people from
<<667>> joining me and when you have the right
<<669>> when you have a strong posture you can
<<671>> do this and people will still be
<<673>> attracted to join with you but when I I
<<675>> set I set very low expectations for what
<<678>> people should expect from me I tell them
<<680>> listen I will give you every single step
<<683>> and teach you exactly what you need to
<<685>> do to be successful in this business but
<<687>> it's going to be 100% you who will
<<690>> create the result I'm here to support
<<692>> you I'm here as a guide but you are the
<<694>> star of the story and and I almost tell
<<698>> I I one of the things I say at the very
<<700>> beginning like in our launch interview
<<703>> is I say my goal is that you become
<<705>> independent of me as fast as possible so
<<707>> instead of them saying hey I'm going to
<<709>> do your presentations for you I'm gonna
<<711>> teach you everything no I I want you to
<<713>> be a self-starter I want you to be
<<715>> become independent of me as fast as
<<717>> possible that's what my upline did with
<<719>> me me that helped me to become one of
<<721>> their most successful teams and that's
<<723>> what I want to do with you for you to
<<725>> become one of our most successful teams
<<726>> so I set expectations that they're going
<<730>> to have to grow they're going to have to
<<731>> develop and their success is not
<<732>> dependent on me and that's that's what
<<735>> sets them up to be a strong powerful
<<736>> independent
<<738>> leader awesome and yeah I see you as
<<741>> well being quite realistic about the
<<743>> business opportunity itself uh because
<<746>> you're not telling people immediately
<<749>> okay this might go very well but you're
<<751>> like setting the expectation to be maybe
<<753>> maybe this will help you with your rent
<<756>> or may yeah and then maybe after that
<<759>> eventually you'll get to to a higher
<<761>> level yeah it's going to be hard you're
<<762>> going to go through rejection you're
<<764>> going to suffer but I will teach you how
<<767>> to overcome all of that and absolutely
<<770>> your your income will start small it
<<771>> will first replace your car payment
<<773>> first first it will just replace your
<<775>> products first you'll you'll be get into
<<777>> profit right and then it's it's slowly
<<780>> advancing and what can happen is
<<783>> extraordinary over the long term but I
<<785>> never sell get-rich quick I always say
<<788>> our opportunity is is an opportunity
<<790>> where you can get rich
<<792>> forever but it's not it's not get rich
<<794>> quick it's going to take time and it's
<<796>> going to
<<798>> hurt and as we are talking about
<<800>> expectations and what it can happen in
<<803>> the future does network marketing
<<807>> work yes of course it works we are we
<<810>> are proof that it works every leader
<<812>> dotera has thousands of people that have
<<814>> achieved the rank of diamond just last
<<816>> month we had three new people on our
<<818>> team hit the rank of diamond and these
<<821>> were not people none of them all three
<<822>> of them are people that have joined our
<<824>> team in the in less than two years the
<<826>> last two years um so not only does it
<<829>> work but it continues to work over and
<<831>> over and over again uh we had we had
<<835>> almost 20,000 people 19,000 new
<<838>> customers join our organization just in
<<841>> August just in the month of August and
<<844>> what that means is that thousands and
<<846>> thousands of people on our team are
<<848>> getting significant results they're
<<850>> bringing in new customers that's
<<853>> creating uh commissions that's creating
<<855>> profit that's creating new success
<<856>> stories so uh once you once you see and
<<860>> you understand what is happening today
<<863>> uh that question the answer is is
<<865>> obvious absolutely it works and it works
<<867>> for every single person who's willing to
<<868>> give it enough time and they're willing
<<870>> to keep their mind right and keep their
<<873>> mouth moving right sharing constantly
<<875>> what it is that we have so and do you
<<878>> have some uh like particular things like
<<881>> that or like some myths that you kind of
<<884>> try to disc construct when when maybe
<<887>> you find some people that are a bit more
<<888>> skeptical towards uh towards uh network
<<891>> marketing yeah oh man there's well
<<895>> there's generic myths that I feel like
<<897>> Society follows and then there's also
<<899>> myths about network marketing so to give
<<901>> an example people generally in society
<<904>> will say things like oh the way you do
<<906>> one thing is the way you do everything
<<908>> that's not true I know a lot of people
<<910>> who make a lot of money but they they're
<<912>> not healthy people right or I know
<<914>> people who are super fit but they're
<<916>> terrible with their with managing their
<<918>> home life or their relationship with
<<919>> their spouse and so there's a lot of
<<923>> General myths that that we promote and
<<925>> and we say them without even thinking
<<927>> sometimes right uh but then there's also
<<929>> there's also a lot of misconceptions
<<931>> about network marketing and that's one
<<933>> of the things that we have the privilege
<<935>> to overcome with people as they take a
<<938>> look at what it is that we're doing um
<<941>> they have the myth for example that you
<<943>> need to get in at the beginning right I
<<945>> have I have people I've been in dotera
<<947>> for 12 years some of the biggest results
<<949>> on my team who are people who joined one
<<951>> or two years ago in my team right so
<<954>> they weren't with me 12 years ago they
<<956>> weren't with dotera 16 years ago when do
<<959>> started right hundreds of thousands of
<<961>> people joined dotera before I did
<<964>> hundreds of thousands and yet my wife
<<967>> and I are in the top you know I don't
<<969>> know what it is maybe the top 100 top 50
<<971>> I don't I don't dotera doesn't do that
<<973>> whole rank game right but we're in the
<<975>> top results when hundreds of thousands
<<977>> of people joined before us so there's
<<979>> myths like that about our profession uh
<<983>> that that we yeah we get to educate
<<985>> people on and help them help them
<<986>> understand that it's not that way you
<<988>> don't need have a lot of contacts you
<<990>> don't need to have a lot of money it
<<992>> doesn't matter when you get started you
<<993>> could get started today or you could
<<995>> have gotten started 10 years ago right
<<997>> these are all things there's the myth of
<<999>> saturation everybody around me uses the
<<1001>> products well then why were there why
<<1003>> are there multiple new blue diamonds
<<1004>> that just hit Blue Diamond here in Utah
<<1007>> where I live where dotera started where
<<1009>> there are hundreds of thousands of
<<1011>> customers already with 80% of their new
<<1014>> customers being in Utah how did that
<<1017>> happen how did that happen right so
<<1019>> people look and they think oh there's
<<1021>> one other person promoting these
<<1022>> products in my city there's no way I can
<<1024>> grow that's just silly that's just silly
<<1027>> we need to look at numbers we need to
<<1028>> look at facts um and helping people
<<1030>> overcome some of those mindset blocks is
<<1032>> a lot of fun I really enjoy it
<<1035>> yeah all right so we made it clear that
<<1038>> it works but there are certain things
<<1041>> that you probably have to sacrifice in
<<1042>> order to make it work so what you think
<<1045>> are the the main sacrifices that that
<<1047>> people need to do to in order to make
<<1049>> network marketing work yeah the biggest
<<1053>> sacrifice I think is to sacrifice your
<<1055>> ego to realize that it's not all about
<<1059>> you meaning the product is going to be
<<1062>> the Superstar dotera the opportunity is
<<1065>> going to be the Superstar so people
<<1067>> think in their minds that they have to
<<1069>> become an influencer or they have to
<<1072>> become you know this this great leader
<<1074>> that's amazing at all of these areas and
<<1076>> the truth is that that that will be
<<1078>> required if you want to be like a double
<<1080>> presidential diamond right but for you
<<1082>> to get results really you need to just
<<1084>> sacrifice your ego and realize that it's
<<1087>> it's not you it's not about you right
<<1089>> it's about other people it's about
<<1090>> serving them with this third party thing
<<1093>> that is dotera that's amazing and
<<1094>> marvelous and and much much bigger than
<<1096>> than we are the next thing that they get
<<1099>> to
<<1099>> sacrifice is some combination of of time
<<1104>> energy and resources so it's going to
<<1107>> take an investment
<<1109>> and it is true that if you have more
<<1111>> resources like Financial ability then
<<1113>> maybe you'll be able to invest a little
<<1115>> bit less time or or less energy because
<<1119>> maybe you can do additional incentives
<<1121>> for your team or maybe you'll be able to
<<1122>> pay to travel to be there in person with
<<1125>> your teams that are far away from you
<<1127>> more easily and that could make some
<<1129>> things easier right so but for others
<<1133>> they don't have resources but they have
<<1134>> more time and so for them the sacrifice
<<1136>> is going to be their time some people
<<1138>> don't have time or resources so it's
<<1140>> going to be their energy like when they
<<1142>> are building they have to give 100% of
<<1146>> who they are in that moment they have to
<<1147>> give all of their energy and just be
<<1150>> super super passionate and that will
<<1152>> help them overcome the lack of resources
<<1154>> or time so uh there there will be
<<1156>> sacrifices that will be needed but it
<<1159>> will be kind of it'll be different for
<<1161>> each person uh and I would say you know
<<1164>> my wife and I we've we've sacrificed a
<<1166>> lot to get to where we are but it's so
<<1168>> worth it and that's the most important
<<1170>> thing for you to know is that those
<<1171>> sacrifices will pay off they will be
<<1174>> worth it in the long
<<1176>> term yeah I I've have done some
<<1178>> interviews in the past with people who
<<1180>> are like doing Diamond Club and everyone
<<1183>> was like it's so
<<1184>> exhausting I mean it's like a incredible
<<1187>> personal growth Journey but you get very
<<1191>> tired it's like three months don't stop
<<1193>> but yeah and then you you you just get
<<1195>> to the next level and yeah it just keeps
<<1197>> going so they they manage to be a lot of
<<1200>> momentum but it does it does come with
<<1203>> that um so we know we what we need to
<<1206>> sacrifice uh what do you need to learn
<<1209>> in order to make network marketing work
<<1212>> H yeah I think you need to learn uh
<<1216>> first of all how to work on your mindset
<<1218>> as as in all the skills that you need to
<<1220>> learn repetition is the is the mother of
<<1222>> of skill right it's repetition so you
<<1225>> need to learn how to look at your own
<<1226>> mind and when you have negative thoughts
<<1229>> or you have limit limiting beliefs come
<<1230>> into your mind on a daily basis and this
<<1232>> will happen multiple times every day you
<<1234>> need to develop the habit of questioning
<<1236>> and the skill of questioning your
<<1237>> thoughts and your beliefs and asking
<<1240>> yourself if that belief is serving you
<<1241>> if it's a if it's a fixed mindset or if
<<1243>> it's a growth mindset that's a that's a
<<1245>> practice that's something that we train
<<1247>> that's a skill that we acquire is
<<1249>> watching our own minds right questioning
<<1251>> ourselves and then there's the practical
<<1254>> skills Beyond
<<1255>> mindset of how do you invite how do you
<<1258>> present how do you enroll how do you
<<1259>> close someone how do you lead how do you
<<1261>> inspire how do you create momentum how
<<1263>> do you get your team into action all of
<<1265>> those are your responsibilities so you
<<1267>> cannot have the mindset looking down
<<1269>> into your team of oh nobody's doing
<<1271>> anything if nobody's doing anything
<<1273>> that's your fault that's a lack of
<<1275>> leadership that's a lack of a skill
<<1277>> Acquired and so uh those are skills the
<<1280>> good news is that initially for you to
<<1282>> get really significant results it just
<<1285>> comes down to the simple skills of being
<<1287>> able to find people to invite them to
<<1289>> present to them to enroll them to close
<<1291>> them right those are the basic
<<1293>> foundational skills that you need to
<<1294>> learn that coupled with the mindset that
<<1298>> can take you to Diamond for sure for
<<1301>> sure and then from there you learn you
<<1303>> know deeper leadership skills and how to
<<1306>> create momentum and leverage and and how
<<1308>> to really uh create a team that's
<<1311>> explosive and how do you see your
<<1314>> leaders acquiring those basic skills
<<1317>> where do they need to go who do they
<<1319>> need to speak to how how are they
<<1320>> getting them mhm yeah they get them
<<1323>> through our trainings they get them
<<1325>> through um the the guides that dotera
<<1328>> offers dotera has so many resources that
<<1330>> even if you joined and didn't have an
<<1332>> upline those basic skills you could
<<1334>> learn just from dotera if you wanted to
<<1337>> right sometimes it's fun to have an
<<1340>> upline to hold your hand and guide you
<<1341>> through the process so we do that for
<<1343>> people right they get on our Zoom calls
<<1345>> they get on our trainings one-on-one
<<1347>> mentorship you know with the person who
<<1349>> directly enrolled you into the company
<<1351>> uh those are ways that you can start to
<<1352>> develop those skills but at the same
<<1354>> time that's the theory that's where you
<<1356>> learn the theory and you never really
<<1358>> learn something like it doesn't become a
<<1359>> part of your DNA until you've done it
<<1362>> and so it's it's on the street it's in
<<1364>> the living rooms it's uh it's in person
<<1367>> with people it's on Zoom calls it's
<<1368>> doing the thing that really helps you to
<<1371>> solidify and acquire the skill for
<<1374>> yourself um and that's where people have
<<1376>> to be willing to just take Massive
<<1377>> Action and do something until it works
<<1380>> and and be willing to fail be willing to
<<1382>> mess up in the process to to strengthen
<<1385>> the muscle of those
<<1388>> skills I you touched there in in
<<1390>> something that I think is is quite
<<1392>> crucial is that you have to be willing
<<1395>> to fail and you have to go again and get
<<1398>> yourself back up and how how do you deal
<<1401>> with the with the
<<1403>> failure you just learn to you just learn
<<1406>> to I wouldn't say love it because I
<<1407>> don't want you to ract it all of the
<<1409>> time but uh tolerate it you learn to to
<<1413>> that it's just a part of the process
<<1415>> right it's just like uh when I step into
<<1418>> my gym and I do a workout and my muscles
<<1420>> get sore I don't love being sore but I
<<1422>> but I tolerate it and and what happens
<<1425>> is it's just a sign that soreness in the
<<1428>> muscle is just a sign that I'm growing
<<1431>> and when you look at failure this the
<<1432>> same way and you realize okay this is
<<1434>> just an opportunity for me to grow
<<1436>> everything that happens to me is is
<<1438>> really happening for me it's not it's
<<1440>> not against me it's happening for me not
<<1443>> to me when you understand that then you
<<1445>> realize that you're just getting
<<1446>> stronger you're just learning getting
<<1448>> feedback failure is just feedback on how
<<1450>> you can adjust things for the future and
<<1453>> so today if I if I invite someone to
<<1456>> join dotera with me to build a business
<<1458>> or to try the products and they say no
<<1461>> this is a this is a scam or these
<<1463>> products are are you know Placebo or
<<1465>> this is a lie or any of the things that
<<1467>> they could come out could really hurt
<<1469>> someone if you were to attach a heart
<<1471>> monitor to me and and like my heart rate
<<1474>> rate would not shift when they say those
<<1477>> things right because it's a muscle that
<<1479>> you build up rejection and those things
<<1482>> and so failure is just feedback it's
<<1484>> just uh Insight on how you can step
<<1487>> forward maybe in a different way in the
<<1488>> future or maybe it's just maybe it's
<<1492>> just that you have a quantity problem
<<1494>> and you just need to do more to filter
<<1496>> through and find the people that are
<<1497>> open we shouldn't expect that everyone
<<1500>> is going to be open we shouldn't expect
<<1502>> that each rank advancement is g to
<<1504>> happen one month at a time right there's
<<1506>> going to be ups and downs along the way
<<1508>> and that's just a part of
<<1511>> it and um so what is the mindset of a
<<1515>> leader like how how should the leader
<<1518>> see themsel and how
<<1520>> should they see others
<<1524>> H that's a good one I think a leader
<<1526>> should see themsel as a Vision uh a
<<1529>> Visionary they should see themselves as
<<1532>> a a transferer a vision someone who sees
<<1536>> both in their business and in each
<<1538>> individual person something that those
<<1540>> people don't see in themselves and call
<<1543>> that into existence through their
<<1545>> communication so I think a leader is a
<<1547>> Visionary I think that a leader is uh is
<<1550>> someone who takes action there's someone
<<1551>> who not only is in action thems all the
<<1554>> time but they create action in other
<<1556>> people they're able to call that out of
<<1559>> others a leader is independent a leader
<<1561>> doesn't depend on their upline they
<<1564>> don't depend on the company so the
<<1566>> company like some people get so
<<1568>> dependent and say oh dotera give me a
<<1570>> promotion like give me a product
<<1572>> promotion right like we need an amazing
<<1574>> BOGO this month or something like that
<<1576>> and I think that's weakness to to to
<<1579>> believe that like you don't need that
<<1580>> you can create momentum without the
<<1583>> without anything that the company does
<<1585>> so to put your growth to say that your
<<1588>> grow grow is dependent on the company is
<<1590>> just it's just a fallacy it's just false
<<1592>> right so a leader has that mindset it
<<1594>> doesn't matter what the company does I'm
<<1596>> going to grow I'm going to adapt I'm
<<1598>> going to find the pathway forward and um
<<1601>> yeah I think the biggest thing is that a
<<1603>> leader moves people yeah they have that
<<1605>> Vision they see things in other people
<<1608>> they call that into reality uh through
<<1610>> their leadership and through their
<<1611>> communication so that's what I'd say
<<1614>> yeah and I I I went through your
<<1616>> Instagram obviously stalking in in in
<<1619>> preparation for this interview and I did
<<1621>> see a lot of comments regarding like how
<<1623>> present uh you are and like how like the
<<1627>> people that were there like oh you
<<1629>> always answered me you or always like
<<1631>> had my back so it's it really reflects
<<1635>> your mindset I I try to be super
<<1638>> accessible like anybody anyone who's
<<1640>> listening to this you could send me a
<<1641>> message on Instagram or you could send
<<1643>> me a message in WhatsApp and you'll get
<<1645>> a response and honestly you'll probably
<<1647>> get a response within 20 4 hours I won't
<<1649>> guarantee that but you probably will
<<1651>> obviously I prioritize prospects first
<<1654>> and then my Frontline leaders and then
<<1656>> the rest of my leaders and then
<<1657>> crossline and I have I have time that
<<1659>> you know I anybody who reaches out to me
<<1661>> I try to to help and serve in some way
<<1663>> so I think accessibility is a a key
<<1666>> leadership trait and it's one that I I
<<1670>> do feel like lacks sometime in the top
<<1673>> leaders of dotera and I get why because
<<1675>> I'm overwhelmed by all of the the
<<1678>> day-to-day things that we have to manage
<<1680>> right as we're building a big team but
<<1682>> also if you put the right systems in
<<1683>> place you can be accessible and what
<<1687>> that does is it just it just gives that
<<1690>> person who's getting started the
<<1692>> confidence that they need all they need
<<1694>> sometimes is one message just one little
<<1696>> audio that says hey go for it do it this
<<1698>> way say it this way try it come back and
<<1701>> let me know how it went and they'll go
<<1702>> out and they'll take action so I do I do
<<1705>> try to live that so I'm I'm grateful
<<1707>> that that's being that that's out
<<1710>> there for sure it is and it is part of
<<1713>> the sacrifice right some of your time
<<1715>> and then you get the reward um so we
<<1719>> we've spoken about this a bit in the
<<1722>> beginning um and I just wanted to
<<1724>> reinforce it on how important uh is
<<1728>> belief yeah belief is man the your
<<1732>> ability
<<1733>> to move forward will depend on
<<1738>> how strong you hold to the right beliefs
<<1743>> right um
<<1745>> so you can't you cannot move without
<<1748>> belief you you there's there's no
<<1751>> there's no momentum there's no growth
<<1752>> there's no movement there's no motion
<<1754>> without belief first and so belief is
<<1757>> really it's just the seed it's the
<<1759>> beginning and it's not the whole process
<<1762>> uh but it is it is the beginning and so
<<1765>> you have to develop that belief and so
<<1768>> each of you i' I'd challenge you like
<<1770>> analyze yourself and say where where do
<<1773>> I need to increase my belief do I need
<<1775>> to increase it in the company do I need
<<1777>> to increase it in our products do I need
<<1778>> to increase it in myself do I need to
<<1779>> increase it in my leaders and then EV
<<1782>> your whole focus should be to devour
<<1785>> content to find the ways that you can
<<1788>> increase that specific belief that you
<<1790>> need to increase and if you do that then
<<1792>> the how will work itself out through
<<1795>> that process
<<1798>> and how do you ignite that belief in
<<1801>> your
<<1802>> teams it depends on the category so um
<<1806>> but really it's through it's through
<<1809>> experience it's really through it comes
<<1811>> down to one word would be stories and
<<1814>> that sometimes is them having their own
<<1815>> story their own experience or it's them
<<1818>> seeing the experience or stories of
<<1820>> others and
<<1822>> so for example with the products I will
<<1826>> hunt for test testimonials and I share
<<1829>> those testimonials with them uh to
<<1832>> increase their belief in a specific
<<1833>> product or in a product category right
<<1836>> or with the business I will hunt for if
<<1838>> they say oh someone in my area is not
<<1841>> going to have success then I'll hunt for
<<1842>> an example of someone who's in an area
<<1844>> like theirs that has had success despite
<<1846>> so it's just showing people that others
<<1849>> that are in the exact same circumstances
<<1852>> as them can have success despite what
<<1855>> are the lessons that you are teaching
<<1857>> your kids now now so they can be
<<1859>> successful
<<1862>> later oo that's a fun question
<<1866>> um we we are trying to involve our kids
<<1871>> as much as we can in our business uh
<<1874>> without putting you know pressure on
<<1876>> them to do what we do or anything like
<<1878>> that but I really want my kids to see
<<1880>> that we work hard um and so for example
<<1884>> I brought my son with me on a trip to
<<1886>> the Philippines to to our uh to do a big
<<1890>> tour and we went around each day we were
<<1892>> on an airplane and in a different city
<<1894>> we had the experience of you know
<<1896>> driving uh eight hours in a car where he
<<1898>> got to see some really really humble
<<1901>> homes and and he turned to me I remember
<<1903>> emotional and he said Dad their home is
<<1906>> smaller than my room in our house and
<<1910>> that was really impactful um and he got
<<1912>> to stand up and share his own experience
<<1914>> with with the products and things like
<<1915>> that um once he you know he was uh
<<1920>> playing his switch while peeing in the
<<1923>> toilet this might be too much
<<1924>> information but he dropped his his
<<1926>> switch his little toy in the toilet and
<<1929>> it it's not waterproof so or pee proof I
<<1932>> guess so it uh it got broken and we
<<1936>> encouraged him to save up the money to
<<1937>> do it himself to get a new one himself
<<1939>> and so he went out door Todo with the
<<1941>> essential oils and he started selling
<<1943>> oils door too and he made enough money
<<1945>> to buy himself a new Switch so things
<<1948>> like that we try to include them in our
<<1949>> business we try to show them that um you
<<1952>> know they they will get value in
<<1954>> exchange for hard work um and we don't
<<1958>> really pay them just for doing chores
<<1960>> around the house or things like that we
<<1962>> actually have a little board with sticky
<<1964>> notes where there's different ways that
<<1966>> they can create value for our family so
<<1968>> they can do different projects or do
<<1970>> different chores that are I you know on
<<1972>> top of their normal keeping the room
<<1975>> clean and things like that and they can
<<1976>> earn $3 or $2 or $1 depending on the
<<1980>> value that each of those chores bring to
<<1982>> our family and so uh those are some of
<<1985>> the things that we do ways we try to
<<1987>> teach them um I wouldn't say we're
<<1989>> perfect parents but we have a lot of fun
<<1991>> and we really really enjoy raising our
<<1993>> kids so no that's awesome and I asked
<<1996>> this because I saw in some of your
<<1997>> videos um you telling them um yeah that
<<2002>> you want them to know that you work hard
<<2004>> and that you fail but you you get
<<2007>> yourself back up and yeah I think that
<<2009>> that was really cute and I'm sure that's
<<2011>> part of your
<<2013>> legacy I hope so um and we have um a
<<2018>> final question to wrap this podcast and
<<2021>> that's uh can you tell us who you are in
<<2024>> one
<<2027>> word in one
<<2029>> word
<<2032>> oh H what am I in one word
<<2040>> Creator I think Creator is the word I
<<2043>> would
<<2044>> choose yeah that's awesome and you can
<<2047>> blame uh my colleague Ash for this
<<2050>> because I said in one sentence but he
<<2052>> was like let's do one word so now this
<<2055>> is a much bigger challenge you have
<<2057>> really have to that is a big challenge
<<2060>> no that's that's great and Creator is a
<<2062>> fantastic word uh I think I I would
<<2066>> maybe steal that one if one day I'm
<<2068>> askk I ask this um but yeah thank you so
<<2072>> much Matt I think it was super valuable
<<2074>> and love having a chat with you uh and
<<2078>> uh I'm sorry for all the messages you're
<<2079>> going to get after these after these
<<2081>> podcast airs because now people know
<<2084>> you're going to answer them but uh I
<<2086>> think I'm I can't wait to to hear about
<<2088>> those interactions so thank you so much
<<2091>> thank you thank you for the opportunity
<<2092>> it's been an honor
<<2094>> [Music]
