<<9>> - A few years ago, we had an incredible volunteering experience

<<13>> in the Greek island of Lesvos with Home For All.

<<16>> I felt that we could do more.

<<18>> So it was, probably around 3 or 4 years ago,

<<21>> that I was teaching a class.

<<23>> And that's when I met Simona and Michele.

<<26>> - And then we met again at a market

<<30>> where we chatted about the Killia project.

<<32>> - And our hearts really, kind of exploded when,

<<35>> when we understood the implications of their job

<<37>> and what they were actually doing for, for our society.

<<40>> - Currently Killa is working on projects, in local areas.

<<44>> It's a small cooperative, a small community, of professionals.

<<49>> So they're helping already quite a lot of kids.

<<51>> With the help

<<53>> of Healing Hands and doTERRA they can expand a lot.

<<57>> And what will happen with the family house in particular will be

<<60>> that they will be able to host children from all across Italy.

<<66>> - Asia, our youngest, is 8 years old, and we adopted her

<<69>> when she was about six months old.

<<71>> - She came into our life like a hurricane.

<<75>> A hurricane full of desire to live,

<<78>> and that was definitely her strength.

<<81>> Children like Asia

<<83>> need a lot of therapy straight away,

<<86>> which help them in this very important

<<90>> and very rapid phase of growth, to recover as much as possible.

<<94>> So therapies that can also be difficult

<<97>> and demanding for the child,

<<100>> with an animal companion at their side, however, become much more

<<105>> almost fun, at times.

<<109>> - The dogs jump in the air because they are so happy.

<<111>> And this is fundamental, it helps us to help others.

<<115>> - We are renovating our house

<<118>> to become the Killia foster home.

<<121>> It needed a major renovation

<<126>> to make all the spaces suitable

<<130>> for welcoming children and to accommodate every need

<<134>> and even disability.

<<136>> - Michele and Simona really reminded us

<<139>> of angels here on earth.

<<142>> And, you know, it's so humbling to see even, as a family

<<147>> how much they're sacrificing, they’re living in a tiny, tiny space right now.

<<152>> It's like, basically three bedrooms in which the five of them live

<<156>> with all their animals, just in order to be able to finish the family house.

<<161>> - They still need to buy medical equipment.

<<164>> And their future is still uncertain because,

<<167>> they don't know when they're going to finish.

<<169>> - Some situations

<<170>> are so, clinically serious that children can’t live

<<175>> more than, a few years.

<<177>> So maybe their lives will all be spent in the family house,

<<182>> with people that really, really love them as a family instead of being abandoned.

<<187>> - They are already receiving like requests

<<189>> from all parts of Italy asking, when is the Casa-la-Killia going to open?

<<195>> - In Italy there are a lot of children, really a lot,

<<199>> who need help, like Asia.

<<201>> You can help us. Help us to help these children.

<<205>> - Orphan children

<<206>> with disabilities in Italy are a reality,

<<209>> so it's up to each of us to either ignore it or decide to help.

<<213>> So please help us to make the Killia House a reality.

<<219>> Because it would really change so many lives.
